Boogie Wonderland

Maybe you can sing or maybe you can dance. Can you do both at the same time?

The new EA game, Boogie, gives you a chance to show your friends that you can do both. Using Nintendo Wii's innovative controllers, you shake and move to the rhythm -- while singing along with the included microphone.

Versions of hit songs by The Jackson 5, Kool & the Gang, M.C. Hammer and our favorite TMZ train wreck, Britney Spears, will make your karaoke parties dance-tastic.

Practice, and perhaps you too can be a hit at the VMAs!

Mario Jumps Onto the iPhone

What happens when you take the world's greatest videogame icon and toss him onto the greatest phone ever?! You get the most beautiful melding of technology the world has ever seen!

While the iPhone hacking community has been hard at work creating applications to enhance the uses of the device, super-genius hacker "stepwhite" stepped up to create what iPhone really needs -- a Nintendo emulator! The emulator plays roms of your favorite NES games -- the legality of the program is iffy at best. Regardless, if this becomes a huge hit, expect more videogames ported to the iPhone.

So down a Red Bull, save the princess and make some phone calls! Ain't technology grand?!

Nintendo -- Wiipping You into Shape

Nintendo's ongoing crusade to shrink the waistlines of Wii owners continues ... fat chance!

If Wii Sports wasn't helping you get your sweat on, Nintendo's latest game, Wii Fit, will surely help you work off those extra pounds. Wii Fit will come bundled with the Wii Balance Board. Players stand on the Balance Board and it measures their center of gravity, weight and Body Mass Index. The board acts as a controller for over 40 types of training activities and games included in the Wii Fit package.

Activities like aerobic exercise, yoga poses, muscle conditioning, ski jumping, soccer and dancing will get you into into shape faster than you can say, "Now you're playing with power!" Unfortunately, a launch date hasn't been set.

Now you have no excuse for not getting in shape, and Bai Ling will have no excuse for her dancing.

Kidman's Brain Game

Nintendo decided to forgo the young hipster spokesperson for their United Kingdom release of "More Brain Training." Instead, the game maker opted for a more sophisticated approach.

Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman appears in the UK television commercial for the game, trying to improve her brain score. The game judges your brain score by utilizing a plethora of mini games that help activate your brain. Nicole's brain score of 52 is 12 years higher than her current age of 40. Perhaps it takes a while to get those Scientology sessions out of the system.

If this is a sign of things to come from Nintendo ads, can gamers soon expect the Jessica Alba "Mario Bros." commercial?

Make a Mario Movie

The Horror of ZeldaYou like video games, you like movies -- and who doesn't like $10,000?

Nintendo and the Tribeca Film Festival are giving videogame fans a chance to show off their creativity and win $10,000 in the Nintendo Short Cuts Showcase. All you have to do is create a five-minute (or less) film with a Nintendo theme. The film can be comedy, drama, animation, live action -- whatever you can imagine is fair game.

The top three videos will premiere at the Top of the Rock observation deck at Rockefeller Center during the Rock Center's Annual Film Showcase in June. First place gets the cash, and all three films receive Nintendo games and hardware.

Be on the lookout for TMZ's five-minute horror epic, "The Legend of Zelda -- Link's Revenge."

Welcome to the Warp Phone

Sure the iPhone will allow you to surf the Internet, make calls and appear to be the coolest person at the party, but will it allow you to defeat Bowser and save the Princess?
NES Phone
In China, you can pick up a phone that does just that. The Century Sutra 1688 phone (greatest phone name ever) will do all the regular phone duties, but it will also play Nintendo games!

The phone comes with a CD-rom packed with 1,500 Nintendo games -- and has a game pad that attaches directly to the phone -- so you won't get hand cramps while trying to save Zelda. The phone utilizes an emulator to play the games -- the legality of it is highly suspect, if not blatant copyright infringement.

If you happen to be in China and you don't mind breaking a few copyright laws, the Century Sutra 1688 phone might be just what Dr. Mario ordered.

Letterman's Brainday

What do you give the hilarious talk show host who has everything? If you're Nintendo, you give him the mental training he needs to stay at the top of his game.
Letterman Gets Brain Age
For his 60th birthday (!), "The Late Show" star David Letterman got a special present from Nintendo -- a copy of the video game "Brain Age," and a Nintendo DS hand-held console on which to play it.

"Brain Age" works out your gray matter with a variety of brain-stimulating activities specially selected by Japanese neuroscientist Dr. Ryuta Kawashima -- including memorizing words that appear on screen, quickly performing simple math problems, reading classic literature as fast as possible, plus everyone's favorite number game, Sudoku.

Nintendo even sent Dave's mom a version of the game so they can see who's sharpest in the family. Expect a "Top Ten Reasons Why Dave's Mom Beat Him at Brain Age" soon.

Wii Loves the Internet

As if it weren't difficult enough to wrestle the Wii away from your family, Nintendo is going to make it even harder beginning this Friday.
Wii
Nintendo announced today that the anticipated Wii web browser will be available in Beta form on December 22. The browser, created by Opera software, will allow gamers to browse the internet by using the Wii remote from the comfort of their sofas. The remote will allow users to point, click and zoom in and out of web pages. Technology triumphant!

While you're waiting patiently for the new browser, Nintendo will release its Forecast Channel; starting tomorrow, you can check out the weather on a 3-D globe before your holiday travel. The Forecast Channel joins four already live channels: Disc Channel, Photo Channel, Mii Channel and Wii Shop Channel.

Hopefully, the browser will work with a certain entertainment website.
