Plaxico Gets a Room with a View

Plaxico BurressPlaxico Burress' new prison digs are more Four Seasons than Howard Johnson -- we're told the lucky felon just landed the equivalent of a lockdown penthouse.

We're told Plax's new room -- not cell -- at Oneida Correctional Facility is an impressive 12 feet wide by 12 feet long -- as opposed to some places where they're only 10 X 6.

We've also learned the room comes equipped with its own window -- so Plax can have a good look at where he would be if he didn't shoot himself in the leg.

And there's this: Plaxico doesn't have to share the super-sized sleeping quarters with anyone named Bubba -- he gets it all to himself.

Reverend Al Sharpton is coming out swinging against Plaxico Burress' 2-year prison sentence -- claiming Plax's punishment is "way out of proportion with the crime."

Rev. Al Sharpton -- Plaxico Burress

The Rev just sent us the following statement:

"I think it is an unusually harsh sentence for someone who was his own victim. He should be punished but his sentence is way out of proportion with the crime.

Celebrities should not be given special treatment but they should not be given exceptional punishments either."

Plaxico Arrives at Rikers Island

Plaxico BurressWe've learned Plaxico Burress arrived at Rikers Island jail in New York at 1:20 PM ET, this according to Deputy Commissioner for NYC Dept. of Corrections Steve Morello.

We're told Plax's stay will be a short one -- he'll be shipped off tomorrow to his next destination ... Fishkill Correctional Facility.

While Plax is behind bars at Rikers, we're told he'll be staying in an individual cell -- meaning no cell mate -- which includes a mattress, sheet and blanket, drinking cup, faucet, toilet, toilet paper and soap.

Also, we're told Plax will shower separately because of his celebrity status -- so he can drop the soap all he wants.

We're told Plax's meals will be delivered to his cell -- for dinner tonight he'll have hot dogs, beans, whole wheat bread and fruit. For breakfast tomorrow he'll get fruit, grits, whole wheat bread and his choice of coffee or tea.

Plaxico Burress -- Smells Like Fishkill

TMZ has learned where Plaxico Burress is expected to serve part of his 2-year prison sentence -- a place more than 100 years old.

Plaxico is currently in the Manhattan Detention Complex, but Plaxcico's lawyer, Ben Brafman, tells us Plax is expected to be shipped to the famous Rikers Island correctional facility and then quickly moved to the Fishkill Correctional Facility in upstate New York.

We're told Plaxico will spend a total of 4-6 weeks going through the Rikers and Fishkill systems -- while authorities determine where Plaxico will spend the bulk of his sentence.

FYI -- Fishkill, which was constructed in 1896, was originally used as a hospital for the criminally insane.

Moments later, Plaxico stood up and made a statement in front of the judge saying, "I apologize to my family ... I thank everyone for their support."

Plaxico then walked from the courtroom into a holding area. He was never placed in handcuffs while inside the courtroom.

Plaxico's Cop: Burress Messed Up, Not Me!

Plaxico BurressPlaxico Burress just got out of four traffic tickets on a technicality -- but the officer who gave him the tickets claims the NFL star is technically full of crap.

TMZ spoke with a rep for the Broward County Police who spoke with the officer who gave Plax the tickets (still following?) -- who told us the cop specifically remembers giving Plaxico the information she was required by law to give him -- which spells out how to pay or contest fines.

Plax claims he never got that information and there is no record to prove otherwise -- so the 4 tickets were thrown out.

The cop explained that the info comes in a flyer, and that she always puts the flyers in with the tickets -- and specifically remembers doing so for Plaxico. The cop even said she saw Plax toss it all onto the backseat of his car.

The cop also said she didn't know who Plaxico was when she pulled him over, but recalls the traffic stop for other reasons: in particular, she remembers how recklessly Plax was operating the car and how poor his attitude was when he was pulled over.

Bet his attitude is better now, huh?
