Nick Menza Drugs Not a Factor in Death

5/25/2016 12:20 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0523_Nick-Menza_facebookNick Menza's onstage death had nothing to do with drugs, it was a massive heart attack ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us autopsy results revealed heart disease in the 51-year-old, and also confirmed a working theory -- that this was not your stereotypical drug-related death. Officials searched the scene and interviewed people close to the former Megadeth drummer -- who died onstage Saturday -- and concluded Menza had no recent history of drug use.

Sources close to Nick say he had dabbled -- like many rock stars -- but we're told he'd been completely sober for 8 years.

Megadeth Drummer Nick Menza Died the Way He Wanted

5/24/2016 12:30 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0523_Nick-Menza_facebookFormer Megadeth drummer Nick Menza went out exactly the way he wanted -- playing drums onstage in front of his fans.

Menza's rep, Robert Bolger, tells us his passing is tragic for sure ... but his friends and family take comfort in the fact that he had said on several occasions when he died he wanted to do so onstage.

Menza had death on his mind last year after Motorhead singer Lemmy Kilmister died. Menza talked about the string of musicians who'd died that year and started talking about his own death.

Nick Menza collapsed during his band's set Saturday at The Baked Potato jazz club in Studio City.

Celine Dion I Can Sing and Execute Wills

5/22/2016 1:00 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0520-Celine-Dion-Rene-Angelil-TMZ-GETTY-01Celine Dion is not only a singer ... she's an official administrator of a vast estate.

We've obtained legal docs that make Celine the official administrator of her late husband Rene Angelil's estate, along with 2 others.

The docs reveal Rene left a will, and he was generous to his children, including kids from a prior marriage.

Rene left homes to 2 of his kids from his first marriage ... it looks like both homes are in Canada.

Celine and Rene have 2 vast estates, both of which are up for sale ... a $45 million Florida estate and a $25 million Quebec castle. The will says once the properties are sold, $9 million will go to a trust ... presumably for their 3 children. BTW ... there are other properties as well, which Celine retains.

Celine also gets all the furniture, cars, clothing, jewelry and personal effects. Most of his money goes into a trust ... which typically would provide for the surviving spouse and children.

And one amusing thing ... probate was opened in Nevada. Celine, who's one of the nicest people in show biz, had to declare she's not a felon.

Breaking News

0513-prince-getty-03Prince's sister wants to make one thing clear ... she, nor anyone in Prince's family is connected to Sunday's memorial planned by his church -- and the family won't be participating.

Tyka Nelson says, "I nor my brother's remains will be present at any Memorial or Funeral services." Jehovah's Witnesses in Minnetonka, Minnesota -- where Prince worshiped -- announced a private service this weekend.

She went on to say in a Facebook post ... she supports all memorials because the grieving process is unique to everyone who was connected to Prince, but wanted fans to know this weekend's service is NOT the highly anticipated public tribute.

She said that will be coming some time in August, and took what seems like a dig at all other memorials, saying ... "We feel inspired to celebrate his life and legacy in just the right way."

Prince Potential New Heir Out There ... If She Steps Up

5/12/2016 12:40 AM PDT BY TMZ STAFF
EXCLUSIVE

0511-prince-getty-03Prince's fortune is about to be spread even thinner because he has a long-lost relative -- according to a lawyer for Prince's deceased half brother.

The attorney filed documents, obtained by TMZ, with Prince's probate ... saying his former client, Duane Nelson, Sr. has a granddaughter somewhere in Minnesota.

Duane died in 2011, and his son -- who died in 2005 -- had a daughter who is now 11 years old.

The attorney, Mike Padden, says the court should vet the girl, and wants a guardian appointed to look out for her interests in the estate.

Duane -- who was Prince's bodyguard for a while -- was omitted from the list of siblings when Tyka Nelson began probate proceedings. We're told some family members don't buy he was a blood relative.

That was never proven, but you can bet DNA testing would be part of vetting the grandniece.
