"The Golden Bachelor" star Theresa Nist's job played a big factor in the ending of her and Gerry Turner's marriage ... TMZ has learned.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... since Theresa has an established career as a compliance officer in New Jersey, she grappled with the idea of leaving her job behind to move to Indiana or South Carolina with Gerry.

We're told Gerry understood Theresa's dilemma and offered up an idea -- splitting their time where they would spend six weeks in Jersey and six weeks in Indiana ... but they couldn't imagine a world where they could do that and Theresa could keep her job.

"The Golden Bachelor" star Gerry Turner is officially on the path to divorce from Theresa Nist -- he wasted no time filing, doing so mere hours after announcing their split.

TMZ has obtained the divorce papers ... Gerry filed them Friday morning in his hometown of Petersburg, Indiana, and cites an "irretrievable breakdown" of the marriage as the reason for them breaking up.

Gerry says they have a prenup ... so it should be a fairly quick divorce -- plus, they've only been married since the show ended back in January.

Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist -- better known as "The Golden Bachelor" couple -- are calling it quits after just 3 months of marriage.

The newlyweds originally fell for each other during season 1 of the popular dating reality show last fall – and then subsequently said their "I Do's" in a televised wedding ceremony.

Now, the two are getting a divorce, making the surprise announcement Friday on "Good Morning America."

Gerry Turner and his wife Theresa Nist made their long-distance relationship just a tad bit closer this week ... cuddling up after it came out that they were living apart.

The 'Golden Bachelor' stars appear to be hanging out right now -- with TN sharing a short video to her Instagram Story Friday ... where Gerry tossed an arm over her shoulder at a restaurant, where they were joined by a bunch of other people, who appear like past constants and some friends.

Our sources say Theresa had plans to visit Gerry in Indiana this week ... although it's not clear if this clip is from that scheduled trip, or something else entirely. Either way, the two seem very happy to be together again -- which may put those pesky split rumors to bed.

Sources close to the 'Golden Bachelor' stars tell TMZ the couple -- who married in a 'Golden Wedding' special on Jan. 4 -- are doing the long-distance thing, with Gerry chilling at his Northern Indiana lake house while Theresa's over in New Jersey.

We're told there are a few reasons why they haven't taken the leap to live together just yet ... and a lot of it has to do with the fact that moving is a complete and total hassle.

The "Golden Bachelor" is a bachelor no more!!

Gerry Turner, 71, officially tied the knot with Theresa Nist during a live 'Golden Wedding' special Thursday night ... with the New Jersey grandmother, 70, looking drop-dead gorgeous in an off-the-shoulder Badgley Mischka gown.

Theresa's son, Tommy, walked her down the aisle during the Palm Springs ceremony ... and dapper Gerry couldn't keep his eyes off her!!

During his vows, Gerry gushed Theresa was a love that came to him silently, and without warning ... expressing he couldn't live without her.

During her vows, the bride said she loved him with all her heart, and couldn't wait to be his wife -- and was ready to comfort him through sadness and laughter.

Other stars from the 'Golden' series came out to show their support, such as Kathy Swarts, Faith Martin, Joan Vassos, and runner-up Leslie Fhima ... with Susan Knowles officiating their wedding.

Gerry proposed to Theresa during the finale of "The Golden Bachelor" last year.

Bachelor Nation's track record of successful couples continues to dwindle ... with 'Bachelorette' star Rachel Lindsay's husband Bryan Abasolo pulling the plug on their marriage.

Bryan beelined it to court Tuesday and filed for divorce after 4 years of marriage ... according to new legal docs obtained by TMZ.

In the docs, Bryan lists their date of separation as Dec. 31, 2023 ... and he's citing the boilerplate "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split.

Bryan, a chiropractor, is requesting spousal support. They did not have any children together.

Rachel's estranged husband also shared an official statement Tuesday ... saying "loving himself and his partner meant he had to let go and start anew."

The pair fell for each other on season 13 of "The Bachelorette" in 2017 ... when Rachel made history as the first Black person to lead an ABC reality dating show.

Rachel and Bryan got engaged during the finale ... then tied the knot in August 2019 during a ceremony in Mexico.

In terms of 'Bachelor' years, Rachel and Bryan made it last for a while ... though Rachel has previously mentioned their difficulties navigating their relationship in the public eye.

Rachel went on fellow "Bachelorette" Kaitlyn Bristowe's "Off the Vine" podcast last year, explaining they both felt constant pressure showing fans how they were both doing.

Watch ... he says there's been an upswing of young bachelors dating up in age lately, and he thinks it's great ABC is finally putting a spotlight on that for the mainstream.

He doesn't really indicate whether he would necessarily be interested in wooing an older woman, but he does appear to be cosigning on the value of seeking wisdom/experience beyond mere beauty -- something to which the 'Bachelor' franchises have been known to fall victim.

That's not to say the seniors can't be fun themselves ... Tyler even says 'Bachelor in Paradise' producers should consider inviting some of the more "seasoned" set to the beach soon!

Singer Carly Waddell -- more known for her TV dating conquests -- opened for Nick Carter Thursday wearing a t-shirt with Lady Gaga sitting at a piano. Interesting, since she had a huge issue with the star doing just that during their time together at college.

Remember ... just days earlier, Carly explained on fellow "Bachelor" alum Jason Tartick's podcast that she was "not a fan" of Gaga when they were students at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts.

She cited Gaga's main offense as her singing "Wicked" at the piano at the top of her lungs during break every single day, which forced her to eat her meals in the hallway away from the commotion.
