- About Me
Born and raised in Los Angeles, I began working in film at age six, followed into the business world by brothers Bobby (“Laramie”) and Johnny (“The Rifleman”). I was twice a produced playwright by age sixteen and columnist for a national teen magazine at twenty-one. Widowed at twenty-six and with five children to support, my limited spare was spent writing whatever the muse inspired: plays, musicals, country/western songs and humorous poetry. Six grandchildren later, I returned to theater, wrote The Christmas Dragon, went on to become a local Southern California award-winning actor and writer/director.
Currently, I have two books in print and electronic media: Dragon Solstice (a Holiday adventure fantasy – the back story of The Christmas Dragon) and Dreams & Portents, both available on Amazon.
Currently President of the California Writers Club-San Fernando Valley Branch, I was a participant in the initial program of the Lincoln Center Directors Lab West, and am also a member of ASCAP, The Dramatists Guild of America, Greater Los Angeles Writers Society (GLAWS). A Lifetime member of the Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights (ALAP), Charles Dickens, L. Frank Baum, Connie Willis, Elizabeth Peters, and Dean Koontz are among my literary heroes.
I live in the West San Fernando Valley with my husband, actor David Stifel, where we serve as staff to our feline roommates, Suzette, Sir Thomas More and Anya Fabiola Featherfoot.
