    Real-Life Warlock -- Boycott Natalie Portman's Movie

@Lips - Actually the term Warlock dates back to ~14th century Scotland and was a term used by the church given to non-converts. So saying they don't exist is a bit silly and shows a lack of historical knowledge on your part. It is no less valid as calling yourself a modern day witch or wizard.

Second Day isn't a Wiccan and has not associated himself with that religious path for many, many years.

Lastly if you were half as educated as you think you are you would know his dress style dates back symbolically thousands of years. So you claim to be a Wiccan but laugh at our own traditional dress? Nice job.

While I don't always agree with Day and some of his actions I see no reason to sling mud and make personal or bigoted attacks. Want to disagree with his opinion of views that's fine. But personal attacks is uncalled for especially by someone who claims to be Wiccan but does not even understand the historical roots of the religion.

    Real-Life Warlock -- I Forgive Charlie Sheen

@WiccanJoe - Actually no. That is a modern association with the word, a betrayer of the coven, that does not exist before 1970 or so. Its been propergated by poorly researched wicca books quoting each other with no one caring to actually research it. There is ZERO historical evidence that suggests warlock means oath-breaker of a coven or other pagans.

The word does trace back to 'oath breaker' but a oath breaker of the church. It was assigned -BY- the church to non-converted pagans.

As for all the other ignorant people here...

Modern day witches and wizards (and warlocks) exist. Get over it. Saying there is no such thing is silly when a secular poll in 2008 said just in the US over 1 million people practice some form of pagan religion or traditional witchcraft/wizardry. And that number is doubling about every 18 months according to that same poll.

And finally while I am not a huge fan of the sheen/day 'war' keep in mind TMZ has GONE TO DAY seeking his opinion Day didn't go to them last few articles. So if you have a prob with this whine to TMZ. If TMZ or other site came to you asking your opinion you know you'd give it so please stop the hypocrisy. Day is simply doing what 95% of us would do in the same boat.

On a final note, Day wear ceremonial black cloaks because black is a traditional color of witches that traces back thousands of years. Black is the color of protection and the color that absorbs energy. As for the makeup, if you people would know world history you would then realize not only where makeup came from but what it was used mainly for in classical times. Answer: Ancient Egypt and used by ancient wizards and mystics as part of their rituals.

If you don't like his views, personality that is fine and you are entitled to such. That said slamming him for his dress style or the like just shows how ignorant or/and bigoted you are to someones beliefs that are not your own.

Perhaps you need to grow up more the Day.

On a final note, Day owns 2 stores and lives in one of the old mansions here in Salem. Far from living in his moms basement. In fact I'd say hes far more successful then 99% of you making such comments about him.

I have a feeling some of you are just going to dismiss all of my efforts here but if I help open the minds of a couple its worth it.

#75 Ignorance is bliss & alive and well it seems.
    #76 Generally I agree actually.
#80 yes that has never been in dispute. However 'oath breaker' to whom? Ever think of that aspect of the entomology? If you researched it you would see it was most likely the church giving that title to pagans who didn't convert. Thus they were 'breaking' the oaths of the church. So a current Witch or Pagan calling himself a Warlock really isn't that negative once you understand the use of the word IN CONTEXT. As technically most all current Witches and Pagans are oath breakers, thus warlocks, by definition.
#81 Witches and Pagans don't believe in the christian devil. Hard to work for something we don't believe in. If you actually, you know, educated yourself on the topic you would see the christian devil didn't exist in your belief system until CENTURIES after its founding and its roots trace back. mostly, to middle eastern mythology. It was a fictional character created to instill fear and thus control. If you don't believe that then read some secular history books.. and no the bible doesn't count.

Lots of people misinformed getting their information from fairy tale books thinking its fact.

Witches and Wizards exist. Have been around for thousands of years. Just because we don't feel the need to build bloated buildings (churches) on every corner does not mean we don't exist. Perhaps you should buy some books and paganism or the religion of Wicca and educate yourself on the topic before spouting off on a public forum showing your ignorance on a topic you clearly know little about.

In 2008 a secular poll was done and religions under the Paganism umbrella (like Wicca which makes up 75% of those pagan religions) is the #6 largest religion in the US. With over 1 million members in the US alone. The religion is doubling about every 18 months in size.

So modern day Witches and Wizards exist. Get over it.

As for what we do we use the same skills the ancient witches used; herbal medicine, lore keepers, divination, necromancy and magick usage. Real magick is not shooting fireballs from a wand even though that would be very cool ;) real magick is during ritual drawing the natural energies around us from natural objects like plants, crystals, trees, etc and sending them out to the universe for a desired effect such as healing or prosperity. Granted not as interesting as the movie version of special effects but there you have it.

As for this article TMZ -WENT TO HIM- and asked his opinion of the movie, he didn't go to TMZ. So if you don't like the article slam TMZ not Mr. Day as he simply responded to a request for his opinion. Do *I* think its a bit much? Yes. But they didn't ask me and he is entitled to his opinion.

Also the comments about causing him physical harm is TOTALLY uncalled for. If you dislike his opinions fine. But be a man/woman and leave it at that. Why act like a card carrying member of the KKK? Grow up and stop acting like a bunch of immature ass clowns. Should be ashamed of yourself.
