Aaron Carter's rep claims the singer NEVER told an entertainment reporter Michael Jackson gave him cocaine and alcohol when he was 15 years old ... and says the reporter COMPLETELY FABRICATED the story.



The controversy stems from an article that ran in OK! Magazine in Australia, written by international journalist Daphne Barak. In the article, Carter was quoted as saying, "Yes, [MJ] gave me wine. I mean, I could have refused, but I was 15. As for drugs? He gave me cocaine."

But Carter's rep tells TMZ, "Nothing was said that was reported" ... and directed us toward a YouTube video of the interview with Barak ... which seems to back up Aaron's side of the story.

UPDATE: A rep for Barak tells TMZ, "Aaron Carter told Daphne Barak in his lengthy interview in Spain, that Michael Jackson gave him alcohol and cocaine while he was 15. He also said that Michael invited him to sleep in his room, and when Aaron woke up at 5:00 AM, he found Michael on his bed."

Aaron Carter's recent elimination from "Dancing with the Stars" cost him a steady paycheck and the timing couldn't be worse -- Uncle Sam says he owes over a million bucks in back taxes.

According to documents filed in Los Angeles yesterday, the alleged former teen heartthrob owes a staggering $1,010,635.08 to the government.

At least now we know why he was crying so much after the show last week.

It's hard to imagine someone being so upset over there not being a new Aaron Carter album that they'd sue -- but alas, there is.

According to a lawsuit filed back in April, a company named Signature Networks won a judgment against Spectra Music for failing to deliver a new Aaron Carter album -- Signature was supposed to handle merchandising.

But here's the thing -- Spectra has gone kaput and Signature can't collect the $574,169.17 judgment. So now they're going after Aaron and his parents (since he was a minor at the time of the deal).

Signature wants what they're owed, plus costs.

The woman who runs the shelter tells TMZ that Carter's dogs "were very, very well-trained" and that Aaron was "extremely happy to see his dogs and they were well cared-for."

He might have been just "extremely happy" not to be in jail anymore.

Nick Carter's baby bro, Aaron, was busted earlier today in Kimble County, Texas with at least two ounces of marijuana!

TMZ has confirmed Aaron was pulled over on I-10 earlier today for speeding -- and when authorities decided to search his vehicle, they found the fat stash inside!

Aaron, 20, is currently in jail until tomorrow, when a judge will be present for his arraignment.
