Keith Olbermann
Al Gore and Current TV
Couldn't Afford Me
Keith Olbermann says it's his fault his Current TV gig ended in disaster -- but only because he should've known the network was way too cheap for him.
On tonight's "Late Show with David Letterman" Olbermann speaks out for the first time about getting canned from Al Gore's network.
Olbermann compared himself to an expensive decoration Gore just couldn't afford, saying ... "If you buy a $10 million chandelier, you should have a house to put it in."
As TMZ reported, Keith felt Current TV was a mismanaged "ragtag operation."
Olbermann sarcastically told Letterman, "I screwed up really big on this. It's my fault that it didn't succeed."

I'm Suing Al Gore's Ass

Keith Olbermann tells TMZ, he's furious with Al Gore for firing him from Current TV -- claiming, "I will be filing [a lawsuit] against them."
As we previously reported, Current just fired Olbermann from his show "Countdown" -- and Al Gore released a statement, claiming Keith was disrespectful and disloyal to viewers.
Now, Keith is firing back -- "It goes almost without saying that the claims against me implied in Current's statement are untrue and will be proved so in the legal actions I will be filing against them presently."
Keith also says, "The truth of the ethics of Mr. Gore and Mr. Hyatt [Current co-founder] will come out."
Keith adds, joining Current TV was a "foolish" mistake.
Keith suggests there had been an internal war raging between him and Gore for more than a year -- though he doesn't go into specifics.

Gore -- who serves as Chairman of Current TV -- says he's "extremely honored and delighted" about Keith ... calling him a "great fit with Current in every way."
Gore also said Olbermann will be able to make political donations in his new job -- explaining, "We believe at Current that every citizen has freedom of speech, and that freedom of speech includes the ability to donate to candidates of your choice."
Al Gore Sex Abuse Investigation -- It's On Again

Police made the announcement today regarding the 2006 allegation, but were not specific about why they were taking another look at the case.
Molly Hagerty recently went public with her accusations in the National Enquirer -- claiming Gore sexually abused her in his hotel room.
A Gore family spokesperson said "Further investigation into this matter will only benefit Mr. Gore." She also said Al stands by his denial.
The investigation comes less than a month after Al and Tipper Gore announced their separation.
Al hasn't had a year this bad since ... well, you know.

Al and Tipper Gore Separate

The couple wrote an email that found its way to Politico, saying, "We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate."

Al Gore's Secret Trip to L.A.
A mysterious trip to L.A. by Al Gore now makes sense since TMZ broke the news of his daughter Kristin Gore's divorce. Here's what we know: The former veep made a covert trip to LAX last weekend. Sources told TMZ details of Gore's Saturday arrival. He blew out of town early Monday.
We're told Gore made some sort of detour to L.A. He flew into the Southwest Airlines terminal -- which typically has regional flights -- picked up four bags of luggage, and left by limo. This was puzzling since the Nobel Prize winner rarely makes a move without alerting the media, and he didn't have any events scheduled in L.A.
But now it makes sense that Daddy Gore came to L.A. to comfort and counsel Kristin. She filed divorce papers on Friday, citing irreconcilable differences.
