UPDATE -- Bynes took to her Twitter page Sunday night to deny the story, writing, "I cant help but laugh at all of you writing fake stories about me. I was not in any hit and runs. I don’t drink so the DUI is false."



Amanda Bynes slammed into a car on the 101 Freeway in the San Fernando Valley on April 10 ... then fled the scene -- according to the victim who told cops the troubled actress was the culprit.

The culprit was driving a 5 series BMW at the time of the accident. The victim gave chase, got off the freeway, but the culprit blew a red light, never to be seen again. The victim was able to write down the license plate number.  She only got a profile view of the woman driving the BMW.

CHP showed up, ran the plate and determined it was a rental vehicle.  Officers told the victim the culprit was driving an Enterprise rental car.  The victim then contacted Enterprise, who told her the person who had rented the car was Amanda Bynes. 

The victim then showed up at a CHP substation and ID'd Amanda from a photo lineup.  And get this ... the photo of Amanda was taken just 4 days earlier -- it was her mug shot from a DUI arrest.  Amanda was driving in West Hollywood on April 6 when she clipped a cop car and was immediately popped for DUI.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the case was referred to a filing officer at the L.A. City Attorney's Office who immediately rejected it because there was no independent witness fingering Amanda as the phantom driver.

Amanda was accused earlier this month of hitting a car in Hollywood and then fleeing the scene.  She told cops she did not feel the impact and was not ticketed.

The bad news: Amanda Bynes was involved in another hit-and-run in Hollywood last night.

The good news: She didn't hit a cop car this time. 

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... a man was driving last night near the intersection of Crescent Heights and Melrose Blvd. when he claims he was sideswiped by a Range Rover that was trying to pass him on the right.

According to our sources, when the SUV didn't stop, the guy called police and reported the hit and run. 

But the guy didn't let it go there. According to our sources, he began to follow the SUV himself (which wasn't difficult because there was traffic). We're told cops responded to the scene and even dispatched a police helicopter to track the SUV, unsure of how severe the accident was.

When cops finally caught up to the Range Rover, we're told the driver was none other than Bynes ... who told police she had no idea she had struck another vehicle. Our sources say the damage to Bynes' SUV was so minimal, it is possible she didn't feel the accident. 

Law enforcement sources tell us Amanda was very cooperative with police and cops had her exchange information with the other driver. We're told she was not given a citation and cops will not be investigating the incident further.

Bynes was arrested for DUI last month after she clipped a cop car.

Sporting another hoochie outfit, Amanda Bynes went clubbing in Hollywood again last night ... for the 2nd time since her DUI arrest ... and it was a disaster.

Bynes -- who drove herself to the Chateau Marmont and Greystone Manor -- was seen texting behind the wheel ... and she eventually backed over a curb in a red zone.

Bynes eventually got the car parked ... and strutted her way inside Greystone ... the same place where a seemingly intoxicated Amanda got behind the wheel and drove off back in March ... despite desperate warnings from our photog.

Bynes was eventually busted for DUI on April 6 after partying at Smoke and Mirrors at The Standard Hotel in Hollywood ... where she unsuccessfully tried to party hours after her arrest.

Amanda Bynes drinks ... A LOT ... despite claims from her father that she doesn't imbibe ... and TMZ has video proof of the actress drunkenly stumbling out of a club just a few weeks before her DUI arrest.

Despite the fact she was busted for drunk driving last week, Amanda's father told People.com, "I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn't have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn't drink."

But TMZ knows Bynes has been frequenting the Hollywood club scene recently ... and on March 22, she appeared so wasted on her way out of Greystone Manor in West Hollywood, she needed TWO FRIENDS to hold her upright so she could get to her car.

Thankfully ... she played it safe and didn't drive that night.

But on March 17, a seemingly inebriated Amanda didn't play it safe at all.  We got video of the actress stumbling out of Greystone Manor ... then getting behind the wheel of her car and driving away, despite pleas from our photog to let a sober person drive.


Of course, Bynes was arrested on April 6 ... after police say she was so drunk, she crashed into a cop car at 3 AM.

Sorry Mr. Bynes ... your daughter drinks ... and she needs help.

Hours after Amanda Bynes was arrested for DUI ... the actress returned to the scene of the crime to continue partying at a Hollywood bar ... but TMZ has learned staffers REFUSED to let her inside.

Multiple sources tell us ... Bynes and some friends tried to enter the hotel bar at The Standard Hotel on Sunset Blvd. on Friday night ... but the doorman refused to let the actress inside.

We're told hotel staff members were aware Bynes had been drinking at the nightclub at The Standard on Thursday evening ... hours before her DUI arrest ... and didn't want to be associated with the actress in case she pulled a repeat performance.

Sources say Bynes and her friends left the hotel without incident.

As we previously reported, Bynes was popped in West Hollywood around 3 AM Friday morning after she allegedly clipped a cop car. She was released on $5,000 bail.

Calls to Amanda's rep have not been returned.

Amanda Bynes just went to an L.A. tow yard to pick up the black BMW she allegedly crashed into a cop car this morning ... wearing the exact same hoochie outfit she wore during the arrest. 

Bynes -- who was clutching a bottle of water -- was clearly suffering from a painful hangover ... following her DUI in West Hollywood at 3AM.

As we previously reported, Bynes spent several hours in jail ... before posting a $5,000 bail.

Now, she's out ... and back on the road.

TMZ has obtained Amanda Bynes' mug shot ... taken moments after she was arrested for DUI in West Hollywood this morning.

Bynes appears to be in full makeup ... sporting an ashy pink dye job ... and a black blazer. 

As we previously reported, Bynes allegedly swiped a cop car as she was trying to pass.  Cops believe she was in no condition to drive.

Bail has been set at $5,000. She's still behind bars.


10:30 AM PT: Amanda has been released from jail in West Hollywood. On her way out, we asked if she's learned her lesson -- she doesn't say a word.

Amanda Bynes was arrested for DUI in West Hollywood early this morning ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell us, Bynes was attempting to pass a cop car in her black BMW ... when she sideswiped the right rear panel of the vehicle. She was pulled over and cops determined she was not fit to be behind the wheel.

We're told the 26-year-old actress was busted at 3 AM ... she's still behind bars.

According to her booking sheet, Bynes is 5'7" and 125 lbs. Her bail has been set at $5,000.

Bynes has been frequenting the Hollywood party scene recently, hitting up several clubs over the last few weeks.

Just last month -- on St. Patrick's Day -- TMZ cameras saw Bynes leaving Greystone Manor, and thought she appeared to be extremely intoxicated. One of our cameramen even warned the valet not to let Amanda drive, but she got into the driver's seat anyway ... and took off (below).



A week before that, Amanda bolted from a cop while he was writing her a ticket. She was pulled over for talking on a cell phone, and while the cop was writing her up ... she drove away.

Amanda later swung by the police station and signed the ticket. So far, she hasn't faced additional charges stemming from that incident.


We just got Amanda's mug shot ... it's to DYE for!

Amanda Bynes made a HUGE mistake during a traffic stop in L.A. yesterday ... she blew off the cop while he was writing the ticket and drove away from the scene ... TMZ has learned.

Bynes was originally pulled over for talking on a cell phone while driving yesterday afternoon. The officer approached the car and collected all of Amanda's information so he could write up the citation.

But Amanda didn't feel like waiting around ... and hit the gas before the cop could hand over the ticket for the actress to sign.

We're told the cop decided NOT to pursue Bynes because he didn't feel she was dangerous ... and besides, he already had all of her information.

Later that day, Bynes rolled by the police station and signed the ticket ... but we're told she's not off the hook for leaving the scene early.

Authorities are currently investigating the situation ... and will decide if Bynes should face further charges for her untimely exit.

Calls to Amanda's rep have not been returned.

Less than a week after the mysterious death of her dog Little Angel ... Amanda Bynes has finally moved on ... to an even CUTER puppy!!!



Amanda introduced her new best friend on Twitter just moments ago ... saying, "I got another pomeranian puppy that I'd like to introduce to you, her name is Tiara :)"

So, we gotta ask ...  

 

Get your lighters out, because Lil Jon sang a touching farewell tune for Amanda Bynes' dog Little Angel ... who sadly passed away yesterday. Here's to you, dawg ...
