Bobby Brown has debuted a new song he wrote about life since Whitney Houston's death ... in which Bobby admits he "messed up pretty bad" and begs his late ex-wife ... "Don't let me die."
An emotional Brown -- sporting sunglasses and leather pants -- performed the song on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" ... featuring the lyrics, "I didn’t realize that every breath I took was from you ... You were my air.”
Brown also sings,"I guess I messed up pretty bad ... I didn’t know who you were ... I didn’t know what we had. Now I’m stuck living in the past ... trying to get the pieces back ... but I guess now you’re gone."
Brown is releasing the song on his new album, which drops in June ... just 4 months after Whitney died.
If Bobby Brown didn't sound too supportive of Bobbi Kristina doing a reality show with Whitney's family ... it's because Bobby wanted his daughter on his upcoming reality show ... sources close to BB tell TMZ.
According to our sources, Bobby has no problem with Bobbi K doing a reality show ... and he has been trying to get her to appear on his show for months. But our sources say that was NEVER going to happen.
We're told Bobbi K has cut off all lines of communication with Bobby, so he's been calling Pat Houston (Whitney's sister-in-law/manager) in an effort to reach out to Bobbi. Our sources say Bobbi never even considered doing her father's show and the rest of the family feels Bobby was only trying to use her to make his upcoming show more marketable.
Our sources say Bobby found out about the Houston family show yesterday like everyone else did.
Bobby Brown is managing to kill two giant birds with one stone ... a concert with his band and his long-awaited wedding -- all in one weekend trip to Hawaii.
Sources tell TMZ ... Brown and his fiancée -- Alicia Etheridge -- have finally set a wedding date after 2 years of engagement bliss ... and it's the same weekend Brown's band New Edition will be performing in Honolulu.
We're told the nuptials will take place on the weekend of June 15th ... Brown will be flying out some of his family and friends to the island, to witness the ceremony he has dubbed his "big day."
The duo has been engaged since May 2010 and have one child together.
Bobby was previously married to Whitney Houston who passed away in February.

Bobby Brown says he isn't to blame for Whitney Houston's deadly drug habit ... claiming, "That was part of her life BEFORE we got together."
Brown just appeared on the "Today" show ... and told Matt Lauer, "I didn't get high [on narcotics] before I met Whitney ... I smoked weed and drank beer ... but no, I wasn't the one that got Whitney on drugs ... I'm not the reason she's gone."
Clearly, Brown doesn't consider marijuana to be a narcotic ... even though the U.S. Govt does.
Still, Brown says he hasn't touched "narcotics" in 7 years ... and says he was "hurt" to learn Whitney had been using again in her final days ... saying, "I know she was struggling with it still."
Brown concluded, "I can honestly say I love that woman with everything I am ... I believe she loved me the same way."
Bobby Brown won't face any additional jail time for his DUI arrest last month -- after copping a plea deal with prosecutors.
Bobby pled "no contest" today to one count of driving with a blood alcohol content of .08 or higher. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the DUI charge.
Bobby was sentenced to 36 months of summary probation and one day in county jail -- which he already served after his arrest.
Bobby must also complete a 90-day alcohol program.

Both offenses are misdemeanors. Each offense carries a maximum penalty of 6 months in jail. Bobby could also be fined $1000 per offense.
As we reported, cops stopped Bobby when they saw him in his car yakking on his cell phone. Cops then smelled a strong odor of alcohol. Bobby didn't do well on the field sobriety test and he was cuffed and booked.
1:36 PM PDT -- Law enforcement sources tell us ... Brown's license had been suspended because he got a speeding ticket in 2010 and failed to show up for his court date.
Whitney Houston's mother believes Bobby Brown's DUI arrest proves what she's been telling people all along ... he's just a bad dude.
Sources close to Cissy Houston tell us ... she's always felt Bobby was a cancer ... who infected Whitney's life with negative influences.
We're told Cissy felt "vindicated" when she found out Bobby was arrested for driving drunk on Monday afternoon ... and believes the incident is exactly why she wants Bobby to "keep his distance" from his daughter Bobbi Kristina.
The Houstons believe Bobbi K has been in a "vulnerable place" since Whitney passed ... and as one source puts it, "This is the last person she needs to be around."
Instead, we're told Cissy wants Bobbi Kristina to hang around "positive mentors" ... like Clive Davis.
Bobby Brown's legal team has finally released a statement regarding the singer's DUI arrest this week ... and it's obvious ... they don't feel comfortable saying he wasn't drinking before he got behind the wheel.
TMZ broke the story ... Brown was pulled over Monday afternoon in L.A. for allegedly talking on his cell phone while driving ... and during the stop, cops say they noticed Brown was drunk ... so they popped him for DUI.
Now, Brown's lawyer Tiffany Feder has released a statement saying ... “Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and Mr. Brown was not driving erratically. He was speaking on his cell phone. Mr. Brown has not been convicted of anything associated with this incident."
She adds, "Mr. Brown is taking this matter seriously and an investigation is underway. The legal process shall run its course."
What's interesting ... although the lawyer is quick to say Bobby wasn't driving erratically, she doesn't say he wasn't drunk.
Bobby was released from jail on his own recognizance hours after the arrest -- he has yet to be charged with a crime.
2:52 PM PST -- Law enforcement sources tell us ... cops believe Brown was DRUNK at the time of his arrest.
Brown was booked for driving under the influence and for driving with the blood alcohol content of .08 or higher.
