Bruce Springsteen
Jumps Into Crowd
CHUGS FAN'S BEER

0329_BRUCE_SPRINGSTEEN
Bruce Springsteen
is the most easily-poisonable rock star on the planet -- because Tuesday during a concert, he grabbed some stranger's beer in the crowd ... and CHUGGED the entire thing ... no questions asked.

It all went down during the Wrecking Ball tour in Philadelphia -- The Boss jumped off stage .. beelined for the crowd ... and sang "Raise Your Hand" in a sea of grab-happy fans.

Then the magic happened (skip to 1:30 in the video) -- halfway through the performance Bruce sat down and a grateful fan handed him a pint of beer ... then like a BAD ASS … Springsteen chugged the golden elixir, threw the empty cup to the crowd in triumph and continued to perform without missing a beat.

Dude is 62 years old. Just sayin'.

Springsteen Cancels Show After Family Death

Bruce Springsteen canceled a concert in Kansas City tonight after his cousin, Lenny Sullivan, was found dead in his hotel room -- a source close to the band tells TMZ.

Springsteen announced the death on his official website, saying it was a "death in the family."

We're told Sullivan worked for Springsteen for 10 years as an assistant tour manager.

Cops and paramedics responded to the hotel where Bruce and the band were staying at around 4:15 PM. Sullivan was found dead in the hotel and circumstances are currently under investigation.

UPDATE: Bruce updated his website with this statement: "Lenny Sullivan, Bruce's cousin and the assistant road manager of the E Street Band for the last ten years, passed away today at the age of 36. A warm and sensitive person, he was beloved by Bruce, the Band, the crew, and the entire Thrill Hill family."

Bruce Springsteen -- Shorn in the USA

Bruce Springsteen proved he's still The Boss -- flashing his shirtless, hairless buff chest in Italy this weekend.

Who's the Boss?

Tom Hanks might be the biggest movie star in the world, but when Bruce Springsteen is around, there is only one Boss.

The random duo was spotted on a speedboat in St. Bart's over the weekend, where Tom was vacationing with his wife, Rita Wilson.

The pair's last collaboration was quite successful: Hanks and Springsteen both won Oscars for their work on 1993's "Philadelphia." They should get together more often.

Killers/Springsteen: You've Heard ... Now LISTEN

Even before The Killers delivered their second album, "Sam's Town," references to Bruce Springsteen's 1975 "Born to Run" had been littered throughout almost every website, article, or review one could get their hands on. Are the comparisons warranted? Listen to the intros of both "When You Were Young" and "Born to Run" for yourself.
Springsteen/Killers audio
"Springsteen touches on the American dream, and that idea runs through the record. It's very optimistic," was a statement made by Killers frontman Brandon Flowers himself. But where he first truly channeled Springsteen publicly was in his confidence to say that "Sam's Town" would be the "best album of the past 20 years," much like the confidence Bruce has displayed throughout his career. If he could only remember the one thing that Springsteen never forgot -- to let the music speak for itself -- during interviews about his new mustache.

Then there's the question of their live shows. Bruce has been regarded as one of America's greatest live musicians, putting on legendary three-hour spectacles. The Killers performed the song "When You Were Young" this past Saturday on "Saturday Night Live" and took an immediate hit from critics. Thanks to the rare footage that you can get in the 30th anniversary edition of "Born to Run" we can also see Bruce perform "Born to Run" in 1975 when he was about the same age as Mr. Flowers is now. Compare those -- then you can be the judge.

Bruce and Patti Go Rumor-Squelching

UPDATE 6:08pm: Bruce Springsteen has posted a statement on his website, brucespringsteen.net: "I hesitate to use this website for anything personal believing it should remain a place where fans of my music can come free of the distractions that occasionally arise with the rest of my job. However, due to the unfounded and ugly rumors that have appeared in the papers over the last few days, I felt they shouldn't pass without comment. Patti and I have been together for 18 years- the best 18 years of my life. We have built a beautiful family we love and want to protect and our commitment to one another remains as strong as the day we were married."

Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa threw some cold water on rumors that a split between the two of them was imminent with a little antique-shopping trip last Friday -- and even gave fellow patrons an impromptu concert.
Bruce Springsteen, Patti Scialfa
TMZ spoke to Judy Barnaby, a manager at the Antique Center of Red Bank in Red Bank, NJ, about an hour from New York City, who told us that the couple showed up on Friday afternoon and perused the store's antiques for about an hour, holding hands and acting "not at all different" from their customary behavior.

Is Bruce Running Into Another Woman's Arms?

Bruce SpringsteenThe New York Post reports that Bruce Springsteen's long time marriage to Patti Scialfa is in deep trouble.

The alleged problem is Bruce's blossoming friendship with a stunning 9/11 widow the Boss met when he organized the "America: A Tribute to Heroes" telethon. The two have been spotted several times at the Beacon Hill Beach Club and the Stone Pony, the Asbury Park watering hole made famous in "Glory Days."

The Post quotes several "friends" of Springsteen who can't seem to decide on whether the couple is on the rocks or not. One friend says "They're separated, but everyone has been sworn to secrecy," while another friend states "He's just a really big flirt. There's nothing going on. Bruce and Patti are very much partners. They go at it a lot and fight, but they also work at it a lot... Patti is a strong woman. They are not going anywhere." Confused yet? So are we.

A Springsteen representative declined comment.
