The dude who tried to break into
Paris Hilton's Hollywood Hills home while holding two big knives was just found GUILTY of first-degree residential burglary.

It took the jury less than an hour to convict
Nathan Lee Parada of trying to break into the socialite's home last August.
As TMZ first reported, Parada was thwarted by Hilton's boyfriend Cy Waits ... who pulled a gun on the suspect before the dude could get inside.
Parada is set to be sentenced on June 29. He faces up to three years in state prison.
The guy who attacked
Paris Hilton's boyfriend outside an L.A. courthouse yesterday just got SMACKED by the judge -- and will spend the next
227 days behind bars.

Earlier today,
James Rainford pled no contest to misdemeanor battery for allegedly smacking
Cy Waits in the back of the head as the couple walked into the Van Nuys Courthouse.
Rainford was already on probation stemming from an incident at Hilton's pad last year -- and today, the judge threw the book at him.
In addition to the jail time, Rainford was sentenced to three years informal probation and ordered to stay away from Waits once he's released.
The man who was just arrested for allegedly attacking
Paris Hilton's boyfriend
Cy Waits outside of an L.A. courtroom was also arrested for an incident at
Hilton's home last year ... TMZ has learned.

The suspect,
James Rainford, was popped in front of Hilton's pad in the Hollywood Hills back in October after sneaking on to her property and then getting in to an altercation with Paris' private security.
Rainford pled no contest to civil assault -- and was sentenced to 3 years probation.

Today, Rainford allegedly struck again -- sources on the scene tell us he smacked Waits in the back of the head as Cy and Paris were walking into a hearing where Paris was set to testify against a different man who allegedly sneaked on to her property and pulled out a knife last year.
We're told Cy's bodyguard immediately apprehended Rainford and turned him over to LAPD.
During the incident, Rainford was telling people he KNOWS Paris ... and insisted Hilton's father, Rick, had given him permission to marry her.
UPDATE: The attacker --
James Rainford -- was just booked for misdemeanor battery on a person and is still in custody.
Paris Hilton's boyfriend
Cy Waits was just attacked outside the Van Nuys courthouse -- where Paris was set to face the man who allegedly tried to break into her house.

Our guy at the scene says Paris and Cy were walking into the courthouse moments ago when a man "lunged" at Cy ... then grabbed him by the neck.
We're told the couple's security team took down the attacker, who is currently being detained by police.
Paris was scheduled to testify in court today against
Nathan Parada ... the alleged knife-wielding man Cy was forced to pull a gun on in August 2010.
Check out the video of the incident above. After the attack, the man -- who we've now identified as
James Rainford -- tells photographers he recently proposed to Paris ... and that she accepted. So, yeah.
Paris Hilton’s boyfriend
Cy Waits will not be charged with a crime for an incident on the Sunset Strip in which he was caught on tape driving over a paparazzo ... TMZ has learned.

The L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. just wrapped up an investigation into the September incident -- and determined that Cy did not commit
a hit-and-run after he drove a Bentley over the foot of a female photog who had gone into the street in an effort to shoot Cy and Paris.
Cy had always insisted that he came back to the scene and turned over the proper information to both the woman and the cops.
Ultimately, investigators agreed ... and as far as cops are concerned -- dude is officially in the clear.
TMZ has obtained the 911 call made after
Paris Hilton's boyfriend
Cy Waits ran over a photographer's foot last week in L.A. -- and in the call, the victim claims, "I just got ran over by a car."

In the call, the photog doesn't seem to be too badly injured -- because it takes her a while to decide that she needs assistance from paramedics.
Paris Hilton and
Cy Waits are trying to drive home ... but there are too many pesky photographers in the streets! Can you help the happy couple get home?
Paris Hilton's boyfriend isn't the only one to blame for last night's vehicular run-in with a female photog on the Sunset Strip -- TMZ has learned the shutterbug is actually admitting partial fault in the matter.

The photog --
Carol Williams -- tells us, "I admit I am at fault as much as him" ... adding that she shouldn't have been "out in the middle of the street" in the first place.
Williams is also shedding light on why she thinks Hilton's BF
Cy Waits drove away from Boa Steakhouse after the incident -- saying, "After he rolled over my foot, he rolled the window down and asked if I was fine ... someone else answered for me and said 'yes' and he drove off."
As we previously reported, Waits was cited for a hit-and-run -- and Williams was treated for injuries to her leg.
Williams tells us she's still a big fan of Paris and notes, "I want to take responsibility for my actions.”
Paris Hilton's boyfriend was cited for hit-and-run last night ... after he hit a photog with a Bentley and then just drove off.

It all went down as paparazzi swarmed the car as Paris and
Cy Waits left Boa in West Hollywood. The posse of paparazzi was all over the car, when suddenly Cy accelerated, knocking a photog down.
The couple took off after the hit and the photog called the cops. Paramedics were also called and took the female photog to a local hospital.

We're told at some point later, Cy came back, sans Paris, and spoke with police.
Law enforcement sources tell us Cy was cited for hit-and-run, then allowed to leave.
And get this ... sources say Paris
is saying, "The pap is making up injuries."
Law enforcement sources also tell us they're looking into all of the photogs, because flashing the lights could have blinded the driver ... which may constitute interfering with the operation of a motor vehicle -- which is also a crime.
UPDATE: Sources close to Cy tell us ... Waits is adamant that he was not cited for hit-and-run. Instead, Waits believes the photographer placed him under citizen's arrest -- and cops were obligated to sign the citizen's arrest form.
Sources also tell us Cy wasn't aware that he struck the photog until after he drove away ... but once he found out -- via text message -- he immediately called the police himself to follow up and eventually returned to the scene.
Paris Hilton is telling her friends the cocaine Las Vegas cops found in her purse was not hers -- it was probably her girlfriend's.

Paris' close friends are telling TMZ ... Hilton now says one of her friends recently borrowed the purse in question and "probably" put cocaine inside. Paris says she got the bag back but never checked the contents.
It's slightly different from the "It's-not-my-purse" defense, but it's the same theme.
Paris is telling friends, "I had no idea the cocaine was there. I swear on my life."
According to Hilton, she was eating sushi at the Wynn hotel with boyfriend
Cy Waits, sipping a little wine. Paris says she was tired and Cy offered to drive her home and then return to the hotel to work.
Paris is telling friends, "It could be a setup. Everyone knows how against cocaine I am."
And there's this ... Paris is saying she believes the cops who stopped the car were "star-struck and blew the whole thing way out of proportion."
Paris Hilton was arrested for possession of cocaine Friday night in Las Vegas.

According to police, Paris was the passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over outside the Wynn Hotel. The driver was arrested for DUI (drug-related, not alcohol) and when cops searched Hilton, they found her in possession of a controlled substance.
Police say tests revealed the substance to be cocaine.
She was arrested and released on her own recognizance.
UPDATE: Paris' boyfriend,
Cy Waits, was arrested as well. He was booked on a charge of DUI.
UPDATE: Sgt. John Sheahan told the AP that during the arrest, Hilton asked to go inside the Wynn hotel for privacy. At that time, Sheahan said, Hilton pulled out a tube of lip balm and "a bindle of cocaine in a plastic bag came
out of her purse" in plain view of police in the room.
Another officer characterized it as a "small amount."
