Dane Cook took to Twitter last night when his beloved dog Beast went missing -- and wouldn't you know it ... the pooch was found just two hours later. Score one for social media!


Cook posted a pic of Beast last night around 9:00 PM and said the dog had been missing for an hour. He asked for help, gave out some info, and posted the ecstatic tweet about finding the dog shortly thereafter. 



 When you only get 140 characters, 13 exclamation points in a tweet means you're REALLY happy.

Dane Cook and Jeffrey Ross were mobbed by chicks last night -- one of whom was TOPLESS -- all because they got on stage and sang a little Guns N' Roses ... and TMZ has the footage.



Cook grabbed the mic and rocked out a rendition of "Sweet Child o' Mine" at the Steel Panther show at the House of Blues on the Sunset Strip.

Dane Cook is taking on the State of California -- claiming the Tax Board made a mistake that could have cost him more than half a million bucks.

The State of California has issued a tax lien against Cook for $515,430.43 in unpaid taxes and penalties from 2005, 2006 and 2007. As of this morning, the lien is still "active."

But Dane tells TMZ the lien "was erroneously filed by the State of California" and adds that "they are in the process of removing this mistaken lien from their records."

Dane Cook didn't even need to be on stage to get heckled this weekend -- because one wacked out drunk dude outside Crown Bar was relentless in trying to get him to tell a "funny joke."


As usual with Dane, nay a funny joke was told.

Dane Cook's half brother has been indicted in Massachusetts on 20 additional counts of larceny ... for allegedly stealing more than $11 million from Cook over a nearly five-year period.

The new charges come on the heels of eight counts back in March -- where Middlesex County prosecutors say Darryl McCauley transferred company funds into his personal bank account.

Prosecutors allege McCauley embezzled the cash while acting as Cook's business manager between March '04 and Dec. '08.

With his brother Daryl McCauley already facing charges for allegedly embezzling millions from the "comedian," McCauley's wife Erika was arrested today as well.

According to the Attorney General's office in Massachusetts, Erika will be arraigned today on charges of larceny by scheme and receiving/concealing stolen property."

Daryl was charged back in March with eight counts of larceny over $250, forgery and larceny by continuous scheme. According to prosecutors, McCauley once forged a $3 million check written from Cook's account to himself.
