Dennis Rodman's just learned a hard lesson about not paying child support -- if you don't a judge will come down on you like a hammer.
An Orange County judge just held Rodman in contempt for raking up a whopping $808,935 in unpaid child supportfor his 9- and 10-year-old children -- and an additional $51,441 in unpaid spousal support.
Rodman was placed on 3 years probation and ordered to perform 104 hours of community service.
While on probation, Rodman is required to stay current with child support and cover alimony. It's unclear how he's gonna dig himself out of the hole.
Dennis previously responded to his ex-wife's demands, saying he couldn't pay because he's broke. According to Dennis, Michelle's six-figure child support bill is based on a $50,000-a-month child support order she obtained behind his back. Rodman's been fighting it since 2010.
Clearly, the judge wasn't buying what Dennis was selling.
Cops are on the hunt for Dennis Rodman ... we've learned he's about to be arrested for failing to pay child support.
Rodman owes $179,000 in back child support. An even bigger problem for the worm is that he owes the dough in Florida, which jails deadbeat dads.
After police hook Rodman up, he can bail out for $4,949.95 -- or he can stay in jail and buy a flat screen.
By the way, Rodman is also a wanted man because he failed to show up for his last child support hearing.
Rodman's longtime lawyers, Bradford Cohen and Vanessa Prieto, tell TMZ ... they'll walk Dennis into court this AM to "clear it all up." The lawyers say Dennis was never properly served with legal papers, so he had no idea there was a hearing. As for not paying his child support ... we'll see what the lawyers say about that.
One final thing. There's another pesky child support matter hanging over Dennis' head. He owes more than $800,000 in back child support to his ex-wife, Michelle Rodman. Dennis says he can't afford to pay the tab.
9:30 AM PT: Dennis Rodman is no longer a wanted man in Florida -- his arrest warrant has just been REVOKED.
Rodman and his lawyer showed up to court this morning in Broward County -- and we're told Rodman explained he's currently in the process of fighting the $179,000 child support order that triggered the warrant, so the judge agreed to dismiss it.
Dennis Rodman is officially a single man -- finally agreeing to sign his wife's divorce papers after battling her for 8 years.
Michelle Rodman initially filed for divorce in 2004 -- then filed again in 2012 after a failed attempt at a reconciliation. We're told Dennis had been fighting her for years about agreeing to sign off on the split.
But in new court docs, obtained by TMZ, Dennis has finally relented -- putting his John Hancock on an agreement to dissolve his marriage once and for all.
There are still some financial issues to work out -- namely the $800,000 in back child support Dennis allegedly owes -- but for all intents and purposes, they're both officially single.
As for the primary motive behind re-filing the papers -- Michelle's attorney Mary Ann Noiroux tells TMZ, Michelle just wanted closure for the kids.
Dennis and Michelle got married in 2003 on Dennis' 42nd birthday. They have two children together -- a son and a daughter.
If Dennis Rodman really is broke, he doesn't give a CRAP -- eating at an expensive restaurant in Miami this weekend ... and brazenly laughing in the faces of all the people he owes money ... literally.
Dennis and his entourage hit up a place called Joe's Stone Crab -- a famous Miami spot where the entrees range from $25 to $45 -- and on their way out ... a photog asked about The Worm's widely reported financial problems.
Dennis immediately cracked up -- and his entourage proceeded to mock the photog, as if asking the question in the first place were utterly ridiculous (fact -- it's not).
Dennis' lawyer has publicly claimed Rodman doesn't have the money to pay $800,000 in back child support and $51,000 in spousal support because he's completely broke and "sick" (i.e. an alcoholic). For his part, Dennis has been fighting his child support order for years because he can't afford it.
A former Vegas waitress has also obtained a judgment against Rodman for $225,000 -- claiming he slapped her butt on the job.
It's not the first time Dennis showed zero regard for his debtors -- just last month, the guy walked around some Vegas shop ... throwing money in the air (below).
But for some reason, this was all joke fodder in Miami yesterday -- with Dennis' buddy even quoting his lawyer in a mocking tone ... joking, "He's broke and sick motherf**ker ... we're going under the bridge after this."
If Dennis Rodman's really broke, he hasn't gotten the memo -- because earlier this month in Vegas, he LITTERED the floor of some clothing shop with cash ... and the rainstorm was all caught on tape!!!
Sources tell TMZ, Rodman had just wrapped a hosting gig at Tabu nightclub -- and a few hours later, he hit up a clothing store at the MGM Grand with his entourage.
Before long, The Worm was flinging stacks of singles into the air ... lining the floor of the entire store with cash. We're told he also spent a couple thousand on new threads while he was there.
Bit shocking -- considering his lawyer said the guy was broke as a joke ... and couldn't afford to pay his child support bill. Oh well!
Dennis Rodman still hasn't paid the price for his slaphappy hands -- this according to a Vegas waitress, who claims The Worm spanked her on the job back in 2009 ... and now, she's dragging him back to court.
As we previously reported, Sara Robinsonsued the Chicago Bulls legend after the alleged sexual assault at the Hard Rock -- and when Rodman failed to respond to the complaint ... Sara won a default judgment in the sum of $225,000.
But Sara claims Rodman still hasn't paid a cent -- so she's once again fighting the same battle, filing new docs in Florida to enforce the judgment in the Sunshine State ... where she suspects Rodman owns property ... hoping to get Rodman to finally pay up.
Sara’s lawyer tells us, “Mr. Rodman has not paid any of the judgment” -- forcing Sara to file papers in EVERY State where Rodman holds residency, including CA and NJ.
Alas, Sara shouldn’t hold her breath ... Rodman also owes his ex-wife $800k and his lawyer says he’s broke.
Rodman's rep tells us, "We have a Vegas lawyer involved now and expect this to be thrown out. It's really a case of someone trying to take advantage of the situation because she was fired."
2:18 PM PDT -- Rodman's rep tells TMZ ... the "sick" comment was a reference to the NBA legend's ongoing struggle with alcoholism.
The rep notes ... Dennis visited a doctor a few months ago and he's in "great physical shape."
Dennis Rodman can't afford to pay more than $800,000 in back child support ... because he's dead ass broke -- this according to new court documents.
Dennis' estranged wife Michelle Rodman filed new papers this month, claiming The Worm owes $808,935 in unpaid child support for his 9- and 10-year-old children -- and an additional $51,441 in unpaid spousal support.
But Dennis' attorney responded to the filing, insisting there's no way the Chicago Bulls legend can pay those bills -- because "Respondent Dennis Rodman is broke and cannot afford any additional fees."
According to his lawyer, Dennis is also "extremely sick" and just isn't making the same bank he made back in his heyday. The lawyer does not specify the nature of Rodman's illness.
According to Dennis' lawyer, the giant child support figure is based on an order Michelle obtained a while ago behind his back -- requiring Rodman to pay $50,000 a month in child support ... an order Dennis has been fighting since 2010.
Dennis' lawyer insists the monthly amount is "unjustified" because it isn't based on Dennis' actual income ... it's based on ludicrous estimates made by Michelle's attorney.
51-year-old Rodman is due in court today for a contempt hearing -- stemming from the child support bill -- and he could be sentenced to 20 days in jail for failure to make payments.
Dennis Rodman couldn't contain himself during his 50th birthday bash in Ft. Lauderdale -- jumping on stage, grabbing the mic, and belting out a shockingly good rendition of Pearl Jam's "Alive" ... and TMZ has the footage.
The rock sesh took place back in May -- as part of a month-long party to celebrate the NBA great's half-century milestone. Here's to fifty more?
Dennis Rodman got real physical at a bar in Akron, Ohio earlier this week, TMZ has learned -- allegedly shoving a local patron after the man uttered two unforgivable words ... "LeBron James."
According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, the man in question -- named Michael Douglas (NOT the actor) -- stopped by a local bar after he heard Rodman was drinking there.
According to the report, Douglas walked up to Rodman and joked with him -- asking if he was in town to check up on LeBron ... and for some reason, Rodman flipped and shoved him back.
Douglas wasn't injured -- and as of now, police aren't pursuing an investigation due to lack of evidence.
But it all must be news to the Worm -- because Rodman's rep tells us, "Dennis has no clue what this is about."
Dennis Rodman may have unintentionally funded a whole lotta college educations ... because dude told us he once dropped $80,000 at a strip club ... IN ONE NIGHT!!
Of course, the year was 1996 ... and Dennis had just signed a one-year deal with the Chicago Bulls reportedly worth $9 million.
Now, 15 years later ... Rodman busted out a few singles again last night to celebrate his 50th birthday at the Headquarters Gentleman's Club in NYC.
On his way in to the party, Rodman also gave us a hint about the outfit he's planning to wear for his upcoming induction into the NBA Hall of Fame ... an outfit that may include a circus clown, midget and a drag queen.
Britney Spears might miss a lot more 'X Factor' auditions ... because she can! Simon Cowell gave Brit damn near free reign in order to sign the pop star to that $15 million deal -- but is it backfiring? We'll tell you what peeps on the set are saying.Plus, Chris Jericho's…
