Just weeks after Dr. Drew promised Octomom free internet service ... to help the mom-of-14 take online classes and get a damn job ... the former "Celebrity Rehab" host has made good on his word.
In case you missed it -- Dr. Drew offered Nadya Suleman an all-inclusive life improvement package last month on his show ... including a 6-month personal trainer online certification program, a year of cleaning services, and a year of child care services.
Problem was ... Nadya didn't have Internet at home to take the PT classes, so Drew also threw in free Internet. This week, Time Warner finally got her ass online.
Dr. Drew Pinsky hasn't permanently checked out of "Celebrity Rehab" -- the show is currently on hold ... but TMZ has learned, VH1 is keeping Drew on deck for a possible reboot.
As we first reported -- VH1 is taking a break from "Celebrity Rehab" while producers ponder a new show centered around struggling celebrity couples. In the meantime, Dr. Drew is busy with two other TV shows -- a daytime program on CW and another show on HLN.
Howard Lapides -- Dr. Drew's longtime manager and producing partner -- tells us, Drew's exit from "Rehab" is merely a "timing issue."
Howard adds, Drew's still in talks about rejoining the show -- "No doors are closed."
Dr. Drew Pinsky is officially checking out of VH1's "Celebrity Rehab" ... but VH1 wants to keep rehab alive, so it's developing another show without the good doc.
Sources connected to the show tell us ... the new show will not focus on celebrity addicts, but rather troubled celebrity couples looking to fix their relationship through a therapy program ... on national television.
We're told producers are noodling over names and one of the frontrunners is "Relationship Rehab."
As for VH1's Dr. Drew 2.0 -- the negotiations are under wraps.
Despite widespread reports, "Grease" star Jeff Conawaydid NOT die from a drug overdose -- but rather his body gave out after long-term prescription drug abuse ... this according toDr. Drew.
Drew -- who treated Conaway on "Celebrity Rehab" -- tells us there is no evidence showing Jeff died from an overdose ... saying, "This was aspiration with overwhelming pneumonia and sepsis."
Drew tells us Jeff's condition was inevitable because the actor had been a serious pill popper for years and the constant substance abuse wore down his body.
Drew explains, "Jeff is another pharmaceutical death from the overutilization of prescription drugs. Please continue to pray for friends and family. They appreciate your support.”
TMZ broke the story ... Staub signed a 3-year deal with Scores Gentlemen's Club in NYC recently ... but after we posted the photos, Danielle had a change of heart.
Staub tells People.com, "I have addictions with love and low self-esteem, and I need help!"
She added, "My low self-esteem derived from childhood sexual abuse and has messed with my mind and self-worth, and over the years I thought about getting help but pushed it deep into the depths of denial."
"For years I have had the suicide hotline on my cell phone and would like nothing more than to free myself from this constant pressure."
"Seeing how I have hurt myself and my family this time, I can no longer push it behind me."
Bai Ling's mysterious trip to the roof of Dr. Drew's recovery center led to a 911 call to the facility this evening ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us the call came in to Pasadena PD around 5:30PM ... Bai Ling was on the roof and there was concern for her safety.
Bai Ling is on the new season of "Celebrity Rehab" ... which, coincidentally, is just starting to shoot.
Before officers could respond ... we're told Bai came in from the roof -- and since there were medical professionals there to handle the situation there was no need for the police.
As for whether Bai was in danger -- multiple sources at the center tell us they were unaware of any emergency.
If at first you don't succeed ... try, try again -- and with that idea in mind, Steven Adler is going back for another season of "Celebrity Rehab" ... TMZ has learned.
Adler appeared on season two of "Rehab" and the first season of the spin-off show "Sober House" back in late 2008, early 2009. Adler then went on to stints in real rehab centers after being ordered to by a judge as part of a DUI bust.
We're told Adler will join the likes of Michael Lohan, Jeremy Jackson, Dwight Gooden, Michaele Salahi and Bai Ling on the latest season of Dr. Drew's show.
Dr. Drew Pinsky -- the world's most famous addictions specialist -- saysCharlie Sheen may be manic ... and possibly bi-polar ... but admits the actor made a point when he criticized Alcoholics Anonymous.
As you may have heard, Charlie ripped AA during an on-air radio rant
yesterday -- calling the group a "bootleg cult" with a success rate of
5%.
And last night at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, Drew admitted, "He's got a point ... their success rates aren't that great ... but it DOES work when people do it."
When asked about Charlie's recent behavior, the "Celebrity Rehab" star explained, "It's no joke, he's getting manic ... these are bi-polar, manic symptoms."
A super-drunk and possibly stoned Sebastian Bach slammed "Celebrity Rehab" star Dr. Drew last night ... calling him a "quack" ... and ironically, it's all because Drew allegedly insisted Bach has a substance abuse problem.
The former Skid Row singer was pounding wine from the bottle and smoking a funny looking cigarette with his pal Sen Dog from Cypress Hill in Hollywood ... when he went off on Drew for repeatedly trying to recruit him to the show.
Bach has had a beef with "Celebrity Rehab" for a while -- last year he revealed, "They ask me every season. I’m not interested in making bad art. Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew is out of control. That show sucks."
But last night -- Bach was in full attack mode ... taking several sarcastic jabs at Drew ... before making the "quack" crack.
UPDATE: Dr. Drew tells us ... while he's not involved in the casting of "Celebrity Rehab," he's more then willing to help anyone that wants help -- but he will not force someone to get help if they don’t want it.
Dr. Drew Pinsky doesn't think Lindsay's big photo shoot next week is a good idea -- telling TMZ, it's a good sign that her counselors think she's ready ... but "going back to work too soon is not good for her."
The good doc was out and about in L.A. yesterday at the Grove, claiming Linds could fall off the wagon if she goes back to work "too fast" -- adding, "treatment's gotta be the priority in her life for the next 3-6 months."
As we first reported, LiLo is all set to do a one-day photo shoot for a major magazine next week -- with the blessing of her counselors at the Betty Ford Clinic.
Rachel Uchitel made an emotional visit to a memorial dedicated to her former fiance who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks ... and for good measure, she brought along Dr. Drewand a reality TV crew.
Cameras were rolling last Thursday as Uchitel -- who is starring in the upcoming season of "Celebrity Rehab" -- sat down near a plaque dedicated to Andy O'Grady in New York's Central Park and read a letter she had written to honor his memory.
A source close to the production tells us Rachel then placed the note in a bottle and dropped it in the water.
