Ethan Hawke has come a long way since "Dead Poet's Society."



Here's the 21-year-old Oscar nominee back in 1991(left) -- and 19 years later, the 40-year-old version at an event in NYC last week (right).

Reality doesn't bite.

So we just got this video of Ethan Hawke, clearly wanting to show off his new baby, Clementine.

Why would he do this, you ask? Well, now that the kid is out in the open, the paps have just lost their incentive to follow him and cash in on an exclusive shot. And baby momma Ryan holds the baby and jokes the baby pics are now worthless.

Now Ethan Hawke is free to lead a life of peace with Chicken Hawke.

The Penguin flew solo to a "Dark Knight" after-party in NYC -- where the cast of the flick was absolutely swarmed by autographazzi and pappers staked outside.

Also in NY: Heath Ledger's ex-gf Naomi Watts showed up to the party for support too, Billy Crystal said Madge was a hottie, Ethan Hawke dodged Uma wedding rumors and Gabrielle Union put the A-Rod/Madonna gossip on blast.

TMZ has learned the names of some of the celebs who have been driven by the limo company that rolled video inside the limo.

As we reported, Ready to Roll has driven Britney Spears, but the A-list is much longer. Other celebs driven by the company include Kevin Spacey, John Goodman, Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and many others.

We're told one of the drivers, Kenny Nervik, drove Spacey for more than a decade. Nervik was arrested July 2 and charged with sexually assaulting four kids, all under 16. Three of them were his foster kids.

Ready to Roll would not tell TMZ if the celebs were also audio taped.

We asked Spacey about Ready to Roll tonight as he showed up for a Broadway play in NYC, but he was mum.

We tried to wish Ethan Hawke a Happy Father's Day, but he wasn't hearing it.

Ethan Hawke and his preggy GF got a marriage license last week, so when we spotted them all dolled up at temple in NYC on Saturday, we thought it must be mazel tov time!

But Ethan himself assured us that we were meshuggah-- it was just a friend's bat mitzvah. Then he went all Don Corleone (not a Jew, we know) on us to set the story straight.

We caught up with the baby-daddy-to-be on Friday, when he was (relatively) all smiles and even bantered with our reporter about fatherhood. But yesterday, flanked by his ladypal (and future baby mama) Ryan Shawhughes, Mr. Hawke was less than receptive to our congratulations.

At least he remembered that we'd done it before.

Ethan Hawke takes crap from nobody ... except his dog.


A paparazzo approached Uma's ex in NYC this morning as he was walked his dog, trying to get Ethan to talk about the former nanny he knocked up. Hawke wasn't having it and even blocked his face with a bag of dog poo!

Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman may not have had a catchy one-name moniker like Brangelina, Bennifer or TomKat, but the ex-supercouple still felt the pressures of being in a high profile marriage.

Hawke tells Parade magazine, "...to be married to another famous person was a huge pressure -- one I didn't enjoy. And it had nothing to do with her." Ethan and Uma divorced in 2004 and have two children together, 8-year-old Maya and 4-year-old Levon. Regarding fatherhood, Ethan says, "It's the only role that, if I fail, I will consider my life a failure." What about "The Newton Boys?"

While messy divorces aren't uncommon in Hollywood, Hawke never makes disparaging remarks about his gorgeous ex. "She's my children's mother. You have to keep that above anything else." Spoken like a true gentleman. You hear that, Alec Baldwin?!
