JC Chasez seems to be a magnet for crime -- TMZ has learned the former boy-bander called the cops yesterday after someone broke into his car and stole a bunch of stuff.



Law enforcement sources tell us ... Chasez was getting ready to leave his Hollywood Hills home Wednesday morning, when he noticed someone had taken $150 in cash and 2 pairs of designer sunglasses from his 2005 Mercedes SLS.

Chasez filed a police report -- and told cops he has surveillance cameras on his property that may have captured the incident.

It's the third time Chasez's had a brush with crime in the past 6 months -- back in November, Chasez scared off an intruder who was trying to break into his home. And days before that, someone successfully jacked thousands of dollars worth of music equipment from the property.

As for the car incident, we're told cops are investigating.

Just days before JC Chasez scared an intruder out of his Hollywood Hills home -- the former boy-bander was victimized by someone who actually made it inside the house .. and stole some very expensive stuff. 


Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Chasez reported a break-in within the last week -- claiming someone got into his place and took thousands of dollars worth of music equipment.

We're told Chasez was not home at the time of the break-in -- which he believes went down during the day -- but called authorities as soon as he realized things were missing.

As TMZ first reported, Chasez confronted an intruder who was trying to break-in to his home through a window earlier this week -- and scared him off. Police tried to track down the perp ... but were unable to locate him.

An investigation is ongoing.

JC Chasez had a serious brush with danger yesterday -- when somebody tried to break into his home in the Hollywood Hills ... while the former boy-bander was INSIDE the house. 


Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Chasez called 911 after someone tried to break a window in the home in an apparent attempt to get inside the house.

We're told the former *NSYNC star heard the noise ... approached the suspect ... and began shouting at the man. We're told Chasez then called 911 ... and the suspect fled the scene.

We're told cops quickly arrived to the home and began a manhunt, the suspect -- described as a "white male" -- got away.

One of the guys from 'NSYNC who isn't Justin or Lance claims the only reason he was at a super-discounted outlet tent in Hollywood yesterday was to "take his friend there."

Rrrrright.

According to JC Chasez, the only Crawford he'd ever be interested in is Cindy -- boy is a 100% hetero.


Ain't no lie, he's not bi, bi, bi.

According to a fellow NSYNCer, Lance Bass is the only Friend of Dorothy in the group, as far as he knows.

Villa was boy band central last night -- with JC and Lance from *NSYNC and the Brothers Lachey from 98° all in the house to celebrate Joey Fatone's 31st birthday. Cue the dance-off!


The boys talked asteroids, in one of TMZ's finest interviewing moments. Nicollette Sheridan and Steve Martin were caught -- not together -- dodging paps on Robertson Blvd., while Forest Whitaker did some shopping at Fred Segal. In NY: Lindsay Lohan had a late dinner at Cipriani, and Sienna Miller chowed down at the Waverly Inn with boyfriend Rhys Ifans.

Though the pop group hasn't put out an album in five years, the boys of *NSYNC still hit up the same parties. Justin, JC and Lance were spotted heading into Timbaland's Pre-VMA party in New York last night, albeit separately. Sadly, Joey and Chris were nowhere to be found.

While Justin Timberlake tried to sneak in with a dark-haired Cameron Diaz, Lance Bass walked the red carpet arm in arm with boyfriend Reichen Lehmkuhl. Poor JC Chasez was notably solo.

Justin and Timbaland are slated to perform together on tonight's award show.
