Jon Bon Jovinever wanted the world to see these incredibly awesome photos of him and half-naked women from the '80s -- but they're coming out now ... and TMZ has this peek inside the vault.
According to a new book -- "Sex, Drugs and Bon Jovi" -- the bodacious pics of the band cavorting with topless women on a bed are from a 1985 photoshoot that was deemed way too risqué for the public. So, the sexy snapshots never saw the light of day ... until now.
The guy who wrote the book -- Bon Jovi's tour manager at the time -- claims Jon went ballistic trying to keep the photos under wraps ... because he was afraid they'd ruin his reputation. It's unclear if he was more worried about the bedroom shots or the pose with Michael Jackson.
No need to fear, Jon. The pics just prove what everyone already assumed -- being a rock star is AWESOME.
Jon Bon Jovi really was "Livin' on a Prayer" last night after he injured his calf during a concert at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey, but finished the show like a champ.

A rep for Bon Jovi tells TMZ: "Near the end of Bon Jovi's two-and-a-half hour show at New Meadowlands Stadium on Friday night, Jon Bon Jovi sustained a torn calf muscle ... The injury will not prevent Bon Jovi from playing any of their upcoming stadium dates this summer."
One of Jon Bon Jovi's sons was taken to the hospital early this morning.
Law enforcement sources in Middletown, NJ tell TMZ a call was placed from Bon Jovi's home at around 2:20 AM. Because of weather conditions, an SUV transported the boy to a local hospital instead of an ambulance.
He was taken to Rierview Medical Center in Redbank, NJ and released early this morning.
