We just obtained the 911 call in which Josh Hartnett asked for medical assistance at the Chateau Marmont last month due to severe stomach pains.

Our photog spotted Josh and ex GF Helena Christensen going in and out of several different places yesterday (including her apartment) -- but always at different times ...

Why don't beautiful people like being seen together?

Josh Hartnett was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital early this morning, ending his night at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood.

The 911 call came in at 12:53 AM and the caller said abdominal pains were the issue.

The ambulance picked up Josh at about 2:00 AM. He walked on his own power -- no stretcher was needed.

UPDATE 12:57 PM We're told Josh was in "excruciating pain" last night, because of gastrointestinal issues. We're told he may have picked up some sort of stomach virus while shooting a movie overseas, and he's had ongoing stomach issues as a result. He's seeing a specialist today.

Dressed in his standard Unabomber chic, Josh Hartnett accomplished a four-minute mile ... in a NYC cab.



He worked on his car-dio.

We all know it wasn't Josh Hartnett in the library, with his candlestick -- but his fans outside his UK play were still pissed when our cameraguy even alluded to the whole sex romp fiasco.

Though he was rumored to be with Rihanna and she was rumored to be with Heath Ledger before he died, Josh Hartnett and Helena Christensen seem to be together again -- and furniture shopping. Oak is the new black!


But Josh left Helena to carry her own heavy load and she even refused help from our photog. Helena knows a good thing -- even if it needs a little training.

Denzel Washington, ever the gentleman, doesn't mind signing autographs -- as long as it's just one per person.


Such was his output, as TMZ observed, when he gave out his Johnny Hancock after a taping of "Regis and Kelly" in New York. Meanwhile, Vince Vaughn wouldn't give an eager fan his scribble, blaming it on the trailing paps. Kanye West was more obliging outside of the Mercer Hotel, where the orange-tastic chef Mario Batali got stuck behind a constipated cab. Elsewhere around the Big Apple, Kelly Ripa, Whoopi Goldberg, and Josh Hartnett made their rounds.

Finally, TMZ was there as pop princess Samantha Cole celebrated her birthday, rolling up in absolutely blingerrific style in a Bentley that almost -- but not quite -- upstaged the b-day girl, replete with $4 million in diamond trim.

With Reese's divorce finalized earlier this month, a happy looking Witherspoon was seen leaving JFK airport. Now she and Jake Gyllenhaal can stop acting like they're "just friends!" Speaking of just friends -- Josh Hartnett was also at JFK, but his new gal pal, Rihanna, was nowhere to be found. Hiding under an umbrella somewhere maybe?!

TMZ had a run-in with the Secret Service last night -- getting pushed away from the door of Pier Sixty for the exit of former President Bill Clinton. Rank does have its privileges.

The Prez got special attention at the Can-Do Awards, but Josh Hartnett, a slightly heavier and hotter Kate Bosworth and her model buddy Helena Christensen didn't get the same treatment -- having to fend off photogs as they left headed to their cars. Rock royalty David Bowie and stunning wife Iman, Julianne Moore, and Beastie Boy Mike D were spotted leaving the event as well.

A hooded Jay-Z fared better than Corinne Bailey Rae at Butter, getting ushered through the doors without waiting in line, while John Legend had no problem getting into Tenjune.
