Looking like Kim Kardashian's blonde body double, Kate Winslet showed off her ridiculous sexy curves in a Stella McCartney dress that accentuated all her positives in Venice, Italy on Friday.

The 35-year-old mother of two should get another Oscar for this alone.

Mogul Richard Branson had his home on a private island in the Caribbean burn to the ground this morning, and his 90-year-old mother might have died in the blaze ... if not for the help of Kate Winslet.

Branson recanted the harrowing tale on his blog this morning, saying that 20 people were inside the home at the time of the fire ... but they all managed to get out fine. He said the main house -- on Necker Island -- was completely destroyed.

Branson cited a tropical storm as the cause, saying a lightning storm hit the house around 4:00 AM.

As for the dramatic rescue of his elderly mother, Branson wrote, "... many thanks to Kate Winslet for helping to carry my 90 year mum out of the main house to safety wondering when a Director was going to shout CUT!"

Wonder who'll play Kate when Branson sells the movie rights?

Evan Rachel Wood is getting all sorts of buzz for a special wig she had to rock for an upcoming HBO project ... a wig that was custom built for her crotch.



The "True Blood" star is slated to go full frontal in the HBO miniseries "Mildred Pierce" -- and at a recent NY press event explained, "Let’s just say, I had to wear a wig because it was in the 30s, and everything had to look like it was in the 30s."

According to Wood, her co-star Kate Winslet encouraged her to do it -- “I looked at Kate and she was like, ‘You’ve got to do it. Trust me, it’s so brave. Put a merkin on and you’ll be fine.”

Apparently, she's not a method actor.

Uber blonde actress Michelle Williams, 30, and less blonde Kate Winslet, 35, made nice at the same event in NYC this week.

On the same day news surfaced of her divorce from husband Sam Mendes, a bikini-clad Kate Winslet vacationed in Mexico.



The 34-year-old's heart will go on ... well-rested and tan.

Perennial Oscar-nominee and "Titanic" star Kate Winslet has split from her husband, director Sam Mendes.



The couple married back in 2003 and have one child together.

A statement from their lawyers says: "The split is entirely amicable and is by mutual agreement. Both parties are fully committed to the future joint parenting of their children."

Winslet can now boast on her resumé that she has six Oscar nominations, one win, and two ex-husbands before the age of 35.

When we asked Kate Winslet if she'd take it all off for Playboy, the newly minted Oscar winner didn't exactly say "no" ...


Of course, if she turns 'em down, all you gotta do is rent "The Reader," "Titanic," "Iris," "Little Children" ...

She's got a hubby, but the only man on Kate Winslet's mind last night was a 13.5in, 8.5lb dude named Oscar.

After starring in the biggest box office hit ever made and being nominated for an Oscar five times, looking better than ever is just icing on the cake for Kate Winslet.

The Photoshop-free 33-year-old looked so hot (and blonde and tan) she didn't even need a coat while out on the streets of Manhattan last night.

She's the queen of the world.
