Levi Johnston owes more than $38,000 in unpaid child support to Bristol Palin -- according to team Bristol.

Bristol's lawyer tells TMZ, Levi hasn't made a child support payment for the ex-couple's son Tripp since June 2010 ... 22 months ago.

According to court records, Levi is required to pay $1,750 a month -- which means his outstanding balance is $38,500.

As for why Bristol hasn't attempted to enforce the order -- via wage garnishment or otherwise -- Bristol's attorney tells us, "We forbore pursuing child support collection in the (perhaps naive) hope that Mr. Johnston would do what men are supposed to do and pay his support obligation voluntarily."

The lawyer adds, "We were also concerned that garnishment or other aggressive collection efforts could exacerbate an already strained relationship" ... no kidding.

We're told Bristol is still holding out hope that Levi will pay. So far, no word back from Levi's camp.

Mama Grizzly is clawing back at Levi Johnston ... claiming Bristol Palin's baby daddy straight up LIED when he claimed her family has been actively trying to block Levi from seeing his son, Tripp.

Sarah and Todd Palin have issued a statement to TMZ ... saying, "We have never hidden Tripp from Levi or discouraged Levi from spending time with him. Any suggestion that we have is false and contrary to our core beliefs."

The Palins add, "The last time either of us recall a conversation with Levi was in the summer of 2010 when Levi sat down at our house with us and personally apologized about lies he told to the media about our family. Neither of us have talked to him since that day."

The Palins are referring to the statements Levi made on "TMZ Live" this week ... when he accused the entire Palin clan of hatching a diabolical plan to keep him away from Tripp ... and said Sarah is the one pulling the strings.

But the Palins say Levi is full of moose droppings ... telling us, "We are disappointed that he continues to tell falsehoods about us to garner media attention. We encourage Levi and all non-custodial fathers to be fully engaged and to positively and fully participate in their children's lives. This includes not making misstatements about his child's grandparents."

Levi Johnston tells TMZ ... his unborn baby was an unexpected surprise ... but he's very excited to raise the child the way HE wants to ... unlike the child he has with Bristol Palin.

Levi just called in to "TMZ Live" ... and admitted he didn't plan to knock up his new GF Sunny Oglesby ... but says, "Things happen and we are both happy with what came of it."

As for his son Tripp, Johnston says he hasn't been allowed to see the kid in over a month ... and blames the Palins for scheming to keep him out of his son's life.

Levi says he will continue to "fight" to see his child ... but notes, "Sunny and I are looking forward to raising the [new] baby together and maybe eventually getting married or something."

Say what you will about 21-year-old Levi Johnston, but his sperm is world class -- he's gotten another girl pregnant out of wedlock.

Sources tell TMZ ... the lucky woman is Sunny Oglesby, a 20-year-old school teacher from Wasilla, Alaska. Levi has been dating her for just over a year. We're told she's in the very early stages of pregnancy -- less than 3 months.

Sunny isn't showing, which may be why Levi hasn't told someone else his secret -- and that would be Bristol Palin, his other baby mama.

Levi is telling friends Sarah Palin and Todd have completely alienated him from his son Tripp, and he barely sees him as a result. Levi says Sarah and Todd have lied to him, telling him Bristol and Tripp were out of town when they were not.

As a result, we're told Levi is "so excited" about starting his new family.

Levi Johnston's little sister HATES Bristol Palin ... calling her "evil" and a "sociopath" in a new Playboy interview. Oh, and she also gets naked.

19-year-old Mercede Johnston (above left) just WENT OFF about the entire Palin crew -- calling Sarah Palin a bad mom who's "never there for [her kids]" ... adding, "She doesn't make her kids go to school. She'd rather parade them around and put on a show, at book signings or conventions."

As for Bristol -- "Everything is about her, her, her. She has to have her own way. She'll be supersweet and then she turns into the most evil person I've ever known ... Honestly, she is the meanest person."

Mercede adds, "I didn't know someone could be so vindictive and evil ...[She's] a sociopath. She doesn't think anything she could do or does is wrong."

Mercede also claims Bristol and Levi PLANNED their pregnancy -- saying, "They were trying to conceive for months."

And for good measure ... Mercede explains why Sarah would have been a TERRIBLE president saying, "I think she'd have had a mental breakdown if she was elected [president] ... She can't even answer Katie Couric's questions."

Mercede Johnston, the younger sister of Levi Johnston, unloaded on the Palin family -- saying Sarah Palin would have a "mental breakdown" if she were elected president ... and that Bristol Palin "prayed to God" Levi was not her baby daddy.

Mercede posed for the September issue of Playboy -- and according to the NY Post, she told the mag 70% of Wasilla, Alaska residents "can't stand Palin" -- and Johnston even thinks her connection to the family prevents her from getting jobs.

She explained, "People say, 'Oh, Mercede Johnston, I don't know if people are going to come in if she works here.'"

Mercede also reveals Bristol sent Levi a text message when she found out she was preggers that read, "Ever since the moment I found out I was pregnant, I prayed to God you weren't the father."

A call to a Palin family attorney was not immediately returned.

Bristol Palin insists Levi Johnston is no rapist -- but still stands by the statement she makes in her new book ... that her 21-year-old baby daddy "stole" her virginity when she was just 15.



Bristol sat with "Good Morning America" today to discuss the book -- entitled "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far" -- claiming she used the word "stolen" because "that's what it felt like."

But Bristol quickly adds -- "I'm not accusing Levi of date rape, or rape at all. But I am just looking back with the adult eyes I have now, and just thinking, that was a foolish decision."

As we previously reported, Bristol claims she lost her virginity to Levi at 15 -- while she was drunk on wine coolers.

The night Bristol Palin lost her V card to Levi Johnston was not real romantic -- She was drunk on wine coolers, didn't remember a thing, and when she woke up ... Levi had split. Oh young love!


In excerpts from her memoir, "Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far," Bristol says she and Levi used condoms, but she got knocked up anyway. Levi's reaction when she broke the news -- "Better be a f**king boy."

Bristol says her mom was kinda shocked, because she had no idea Bristol was sexually active.

When the doctors asked Levi -- a real wordsmith -- to cut the cord, he responded by saying, "gross," and backed off.  The honors were left to Sarah.

Bristol goes on to say Levi cheated on her constantly, coming home drunk, with hickeys on his neck. She says she finally ended things when Levi told her he got another girl pregnant and that Levi named the child Bentley, which was her first choice when they were naming Tripp.

The book comes out on Tuesday -- Levi's memoir comes out in the fall.

Move over, "Outliers."

They grow up so fast ... Levi Johnston, everyone's favorite single father, celebrated his 21st birthday at Chateau nightclub in Las Vegas last night.

Bristol Palin has a major hurdle to clear before she and her son Tripp can relocate to Arizona --
because her baby daddy Levi Johnston has yet to approve.


A rep for Levi tells TMZ ... Johnston is "aware" Bristol purchased a $172k home in AZ ... but the two have not had any discussions about relocating 2-year-old Tripp.

According to court officials in Alaska ... in order for a parent with primary custody -- like Bristol -- to relocate a child, she would need either consent from the other parent ... or she could file a motion for approval from a judge.

But there may be hope for Bristol -- Levi's rep tells us, "Levi is not at all upset that Bristol is going to Arizona" ... adding, "After the holidays, Levi and Bristol will get together and discuss plans for Tripp."

We're told the two have to work out the details with Levi's visitation rights -- with one major factor being ... who's gonna foot the bill for Levi to travel to AZ to see the kid???
