A deal
Prince made to promote his own perfume is going to leave the diminutive singer nearly $4 million in the
purple red ... after a quasi-judge concluded he should fork over millions of bucks for causing the deal to go south.
Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics sued Prince over the "3121" odor in 2008 ... claiming he never lived up to his end of the deal -- to promote the scent.
The New York court ruled in favor of Revelations and a "special referee" -- assigned to make recommendations to the judge on the issue of damages -- has now advised the real judge that Prince should fork over $3,948,798.58.
The judge will decide on Nov. 1 if he'll accept the referee's recommendation and nail Prince for nearly $4 mil.

Unbeweaveable.
We're just sayin'.
Apparently,
Prince had no idea
Whitney Houston had been blacklisted from his concerts ... and now, The Purple One wants everyone to know "she's always welcome 4 all of eternity."

TMZ had confirmed the ban with several sources connected to Prince's tour -- but Wednesday, Prince's manager released a statement welcoming Houston to come back whenever she wants ... insisting the singer enjoys having Houston in his audience.
One extremely connected source tells us, "Someone could have taken it upon themselves to say Whitney was banned ... but it did not come from Prince."

The source adds, "Whoever decided Whitney was banned did not have the authority to do so."
In fact, we're told Prince invited Whitney to hang out backstage during one of his L.A. shows.
Whitney Houston has lost her
Prince privileges ... because sources tell TMZ the Purple One's people became so fed up with her erratic behavior and constant ticket demands ... that she is no longer allowed at his shows.

According to our Prince sources, Whitney attended several Prince concerts in the last few weeks and appeared to be "intoxicated" at each show -- though our sources never saw Whitney drink alcohol or take drugs.
We're told Whitney was constantly badgering Prince's staff to let her up on the stage ... but Team Prince shot her down multiple times because P's people "didn't want her to embarrass herself."
Our sources say Whitney's erratic behavior, coupled with repeated and excessive ticket demands became too much for Prince -- and his team ultimately banned Houston from his concerts.

As TMZ first reported, Houston is receiving treatment in
an out-patient rehab program for ongoing drug and alcohol problems.
Calls to Houston's people have not been returned.

Guess what she looks like now!
Prince has always been a strange and mysterious man -- but now he's found a way to magically appear and then disappear from the cover of the new
Michael Jackson album.

The cover to the album, "Michael," is a copy of a painting from 2009. If you look closely ... you can see Prince's unique symbol inside of a circle (
upper right). But now, when you go to
Sony's website to buy the CD, Prince's glyph has magically disappeared.
The website
DrFunkenberry.com, which first took note of the symbol, claims to have spoken to Prince's people, who told them, "No permission was granted. Sony Entertainment has removed the symbol."
This is what it sounds like ... when Prince's lawyers send you a takedown notice.
Two of
Michael Jackson's children are adamant -- some of the soon-to-be released MJ song tracks are frauds.

As we have
been reporting, Sony will be releasing a Michael Jackson album before Christmas, featuring 10 - 12 original tracks. We're told 5 of the tracks were recorded at the New Jersey home of record producer
Eddie Cascio.
Michael and his kids stayed at Cascio's family home for 4 months in 2007, when the tracks were recorded, along with remixes that were released on the Thriller 25 Album.
The Jackson family believes the Cassio tracks in question were fakes -- sung by a Michael Jackson sound-alike. We're told
Prince says he was upstairs at the Cascio's house when many of the tracks were recorded and was able to hear the music, and none of what he heard matches the Sony tracks.
We're also told
Paris is "adamant" -- she does not believe her dad's voice is on the tracks in question.
But the estate claims there are sound experts who say conclusively the tracks are the real deal.
People connected with the Sony project believe the kids are being "manipulated" by Katherine Jackson and other family members who don't want the album released.
Dig if you will the picture ... of
Prince paying off his legal debt to a high-powered, Los Angeles attorney. Sorry, it's not as sexy as anything in "
Purple Rain."

As we first reported, Prince
was sued back in August by Ed McPherson for allegedly not paying McPherson for his legal services. According to the suit, his legal bill was $49,987.74.
Earlier this week, McPherson filed docs to dismiss the case -- we're told because Prince finally paid his tab.
When called for comment Prince said, "I never meant to cause Ed McPherson any sorrow. I never meant to cause him any pain. I only one time wanted to see him laughing. I only wanted to see him laughing in the purple rain."
(
Kidding)
Prince is getting dragged into court by high powered attorney
Ed McPherson -- who claims his purple highness owes him a royal fortune ... nearly $50,000 for services rendered.

According to the lawsuit, Prince hired McPherson to represent him on two different cases -- and racked up a legal bill of $49,987.74. McPherson says he "performed legal services on [Prince's] behalf in an exemplary manner" -- but has yet to get paid.
Prophetically, one of the cases Prince hired McPherson for was a lawsuit by an agency which -- like McPherson -- claimed Prince screwed them over financially.
In the docs, filed today in
L.A. County Superior Court, McPherson claims he made "countless attempts ... to resolve this matter" with Prince.
Prince's rep hasn't returned our call yet.

On a family outing for the first time since the LAPD began investigating that whole

No word if they were celebrating anyone's unbirthday.
