Seth Green is now only vaguely Jewish, because a judge has officially dropped "Gesshel" from his name.

TMZ obtained the judge's order -- issued today in L.A. County Superior Court -- which makes it official -- He's now legally known just as Seth Green.

The "Robot Chicken" producer -- formerly known as Seth Benjamin Gesshel-Green -- made the change "to reflect my professional stage name."

Seth Benjamin Gesshel-Green will soon be half the Jew he used to be  -- TMZ has learned the actor is dropping his mom's maiden name "Gesshal" ... and sticking to just plain Green.

TMZ has obtained the petition filed by the "Robot Chicken" producer in L.A. County Superior Court this month -- asking a judge to legally shorten his name to Seth Benjamin Green.

Seth claims the reason for the name change is "to reflect my professional stage name."

Now -- just like Mr. World Peace -- Seth is required to print a public declaration of his new name in a local newspaper once a week ... for 4 weeks in a row.

He's due back in court on October 20 -- so the judge can make the change official.

Don't draw up that conservatorship just yet, but "Austin Powers" star Seth Green has shaved his carrot top into a punk rock multi-colored mohawk.



Hopefully the 35-year-old's "Taxi Driver" 'do is just for a movie and not an early warning sign for a 5150 hold.

A female non-lebrity was able to infiltrate the bizarro celebrity trinity of Seth Green, Macaulay Culkin and Scarlett Johansson on Tuesday.

As they walked the streets of NYC, the illustrious group appeared unscathed by the average being's lack of fame or shaded eye wear.

Unable to determine if said woman was actually an employee of one of the known personalities, emergency personnel were not called to the scene.

A random woman went off on TMZ to Seth Green last night -- luckily, the "Austin Powers" alum had our back!


Our photogs caught Green outside of Koi trying to deflect attention from himself in any way possible. A blonde woman, drunk on Hater-ade, then walked up to him out of nowhere and started trash-talkin' our show, saying, "It's horrible ... they follow celebrities around all the time."

Green brushed off the awkward confrontation by saying, "That sounds like a great concept." We agree!

Will Paris and Nicole work together in the fifth season of "The Simple Life"?

Zoey, you can thank your heavenly E! Entertainment stars that another season of "The Simple Life" will be gracing our presence. But this season will prove more dramatic than last as Paris and Nicole (shown here from the earlier seasons on FOX) will not be filmed separately, like season four, forcing the two to work together.

The president and CEO of the E! Entertainment network says that while he can't predict if the ladies will have made up or not by then, he realizes that he needs to give the people "what they want." And what they want is a confrontation! For now, we'll have to wait and see. Filming hasn't begun for the latest season, but we'll let you know when it does.

When will Charlize Theron come out with another one of her fantastic movies?

Joan, Charlize will be seen in the movie "The Ice at the Bottom of the World" in December of '07. After that, her next, and quite possibly most anticipated movie, will be the sequel to "The Italian Job" -- "The Brazilian Job" in which she teams up once more with Mark Wahlberg, Seth Green and Mos Def. In this flick, the team travels down to Rio de Janeiro for their next scam. Production has started for this film, however the Oscar winner has not yet started filming.
