Toby Keith may think his Nobel Peace Prize party eye gesture wasn't a big deal -- but TWO Asian organizations are furious about it, claiming the "racist" maneuver wasn't just offensive, it was an embarrassment to his country.
As TMZ first reported, Keith pulled back his eyes when Will Smith rapped the word "yellow" during an impromptu performance in Norway a few days ago -- Toby's rep blew it off, telling us, "nobody at the party thought Toby was out of line." But outside the party -- people are pissed.
A rep for the Asian American Justice Center tells TMZ, "Toby Keith embarrassed himself and his country, denigrated the Noble Peace Prize and offended Asians and Asian Americans by using a crude, racist hand gesture."
Another group -- the Media Action Network for Asians -- also took offense with Toby, telling us, "By doing this, he is telling his Asian fans 'you don't matter, you're not on my radar.'"
No complaints, no foul -- that's what Toby Keith's peeps are saying about his eye-stretching performance at a Nobel Peace Prize after party earlier this week.
The insensitive gesture occurred during Will Smith's rendition of "Rapper's Delight," when Toby slanted his eyes as Will rapped the word "yellow" -- but according to Toby's rep, "No one at the concert thought Toby was out of line."
Toby's rep also said, "Everyone was impressed with his rapping skills and that's it ... all of the artists liked each other, hung out, and it was a very friendly, genuine, and supportive atmosphere."
We're guessing the woman who sued Miley Cyrus for $4 billion over the same gesture would disagree.
Remember 30 seconds ago, when we published that awesome Nobel Peace Prize party footage??? Well, it's ruined now ... thanks to a moment where Toby Keith made a gesture deemed offensive to Asians.
During "Rapper's Delight," Toby slants his eyes when Will Smith raps the line "to the black, to the white, the red, and the brown, the purple and yellow."
As you can guess, the gesture occurred right when the word "yellow" was uttered -- roughly 1:25 into the footage.
So, Toby Keith can rap -- but that's not the most surprising part about this footage.
Will Smith, Wyclef Jean, Natasha Bedingfield and TK rocked out some classic rap at an after party for the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony in Norway earlier this week -- yes, the Nobel Peace Prize has an after party!!!!
It doesn't matter that Toby Keith has enough money to pay a small army to carry his junk – the country star is still blue collar at heart.
Think about the biggest stars in any of the main genres of music -- could you imagine Lady GaGa, Eminem, Justin TImberlake or the Jonas Brothers carrying their own equipment?!
Move over Ed Hardy, Christian Audigier and International Male catalog, because Toby Keith is starting a fashion line for all those cheesy American men who like wearing their shirts unbuttoned to the navel and/or sans sleeves. Fierce! Check out some of Toby's I Love This Bar and Grill Collection ... if you must.
We now have incredible video of Toby Keithgoing after a fan at a Kentucky concert this weekend -- have you ever seen a country star grab someone by the face and the hair at the same time?!
After the concert-goer allegedly tossed a beer on stage and flipped Toby off -- the 6'4," 250 lb singer jumped into the crowd, busted through security and fans, violently wrangled the dude into a death grip and then began screaming at him.
We're not sure what Toby said, but we think these words: &*$#, *&^%$ and @!#$&$%^$&# were used.
Ironic part: Toby was right in the middle of singing "A Little Less Talk And A Lot More Action."
Toby Keith was his own personal security task force at a concert this weekend -- going after the "punk-ass mother f***er" who allegedly fired a beer on stage.
It all went down at a concert in Pikeville, Kentucky on Saturday night when Keith says one rowdy fan threw him "the bird" ... and then threw a beer.
Keith's reps tell TMZ Toby jumped off the stage and confronted the guy face-to-face. After Toby fired off a few choice words, the guy backed down and security dragged him out.
Toby apologized for the incident moments after it happened -- as you can see in the video -- but no arrests were made and the rest of the concert went off without a hitch.
