Shakira Caine (born Shakira Baksh on 23 February 1947, also known as Shakira and Lady Micklewhite), is a Guyanese-British former fashion model and actress of Asian origin descent. She was born in Guyana to a Muslim family . Her mother was a dressmaker, and she aspired to follow in her footsteps and become a fashion designer. While working as a secretary her boss urged her to enter the Miss Guyana contest, where she won the Miss Guyana title. At the age of 19 she came third in the 1967 Miss World contest, held in London, where she stayed on to launch a career in modelling. After seeing Baksh in a TV commercial for Maxwell House coffee, British actor Michael Caine became obsessed with finding the woman he considered to be "the most beautiful ... he had ever seen". The couple were married in Las Vegas on 8 January 1973, and had one daughter, Natasha. Baksh appeared in several films in the 1970s, including Again Doctor, Son of Dracula, and with her husband in John Huston's The Man Who Would Be King. She also appeared in two episodes of the science fiction drama series UFO.
