Lil Mama just tried to explain why she pulled a mini-Kanye last night at the VMAs -- issuing a non-apology for jumping on stage at the end of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' performance like she deserved to be up there.
Here's what Mama told MTV:
"I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys. I admire them and look up to them as role models. 'Empire State of Mind' had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up onstage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY."
Every party has a pooper and last night it was Alicia Keys.
Beyonce got everyone on their feet at the AMAs last night with her annoyingly catchy "Single Ladies" -- everyone but Miss Keys and that random dude who sat next to Queen Latifah.
50's on the warpath again -- where's Ja Rule when you need him?! Fiddy is blasting Alicia Keys for saying, "Gangsta rap was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other." 50 Cent now responds, "I don't like people who don't like me ... that statement changes my perception of Alicia Keys totally. It's just not really a bright comment ..." Apparently, it takes being shot nine times to gain that kind of wisdom!
For her part, Keys now says the comment was taken out of context. A little scared, Alicia?
50 tells Showbuzz that in his eyes, Keys is now in the same category as Oprah. As in what -- filthy rich and all-powerful?
Moments after screaming to WGA strikers "Let's walk!" Alicia Keys walked ... to her car!
After performing a set and getting protesters all riled up, Alicia Keys shouted her support and made it seem like she was going to join in the march -- but instead made a beeline to her waiting SUV. Still, it was cool that she showed up and sang!
Sanjaya isn't the only person in Hollywood having a bad hair day! Everyone from Fergie to "Grey's Anatomy" star Kate Walsh has been guilty of sporting some seriously troubling forehead-covering hair-don'ts! Bangs Gone Wild!
What's Alicia Keys up to? I heard she was doing a movie. --Pascal
Not just one movie, Pascal -- she's doing two! First up is "Smokin' Aces," with Ben Affleck and Jeremy Piven, in which Keys plays an assassin. If you can hold out, this movie hits theaters January 26. She'll also be seen this spring in "The Nanny Diaries" with Scarlett Johansson and Paul Giamatti.
But that's not all! She's also been making music -- expect Ms. Keys' new album in June.

Just five days later, Jessica Alba is wearing the same JAK & RAE's jacket - just a little dressed down - as she attended the Los Angeles premiere of, 'An Inconvenient Truth.'
Alicia's stylist called and ordered her the jacket, which retails for $298. Jessica herself shopped the exclusive JAK & RAE's showroom in Los Angeles and happened to leave with the same jacket.
Other celebrity fans of JAK & RAE include Eva Longoria, Rachel Bilson, Uma Thurman, Nicole Kidman, Marcia Cross, Kristen Bell, Alicia Silverstone, Melinda Clarke, Jennifer Esposito, Sarah McLachlan, Kate Albrecht and Emmanuelle Chriqui.

Mariah Carey was poised to keep her comeback going Saturday as a leading contender for the 37th Annual NAACP Image Awards, including best song and album.
Carey, Kanye West and Alicia Keys had four nominations each going into the awards honoring achievement by blacks in movies, television, music and literature, while Terrence Howard had two acting nominations for the films "Crash" and "Hustle & Flow."
"Crash," about racial tensions in Los Angeles, led movie contenders with six nominations, including best picture, four of the five supporting-actor slots for Howard, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Don Cheadle and Larenz Tate and for Thandie Newton as supporting actress.
Other best-picture nominees included "Hustle & Flow," in which Howard plays a pimp and drug peddler trying to start a rap-music career, "Coach Carter," "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" and "Hitch."
Forget the Grammys, Alicia Keys and Teri Hatcher vied for the sexiest dress award Wednesday night.
Hatcher's plum-colored dress with lace panels by Jean Paul Gaultier was sheer to the point that the boy-briefs she wore underneath the gown were clearly visible. Curly hair and strands of pearls completed her wild-girl look.
"The Grammys always push the envelope with fashion and that's what I'm doing," Hatcher said as she went into the Los Angeles ceremony.
Keys chose an Armani Prive black beaded gown with a plunging V-neck and a dramatic low back. It also had a front slit.
"Giorgio Armani made it especially for me. I feel like a winner," Keys told E!'s Ryan Seacrest.
Another sexy number was Christina Milian's silver halter-top Max Azria Atelier dress with a peek-a-boo bodice.
Fashion plate Gwen Stefani's one-shoulder, animal-print gown had a beaded empire waist, a necessary detail to accommodate her pregnant belly.
LOS ANGELES -- After conquering the world of music, Alicia Keys is expanding into movie and television production.
Keys, 24, and her longtime manager, Jeff Robinson, said Thursday they have formed a company whose first project will be a UPN TV series inspired by Keys' experiences as a biracial youngster growing in New York.
"A lot of times I watch TV and I watch film and there's so many things I'd love to talk about that I feel don't get the opportunity to be shown," Keys told The Associated Press. "Sometimes things become very stereotypical and one-sided, and I feel like it's such a colorful world."
Their company, New York-based Big Pita, Lil' Pita, will provide "the opportunity to expose that array," Keys said in a phone call.
She's also intent on developing projects that give women their due, she added.
"I was mostly raised by very strong women, and I consider myself one as well. So I'd like to see things explore that and see that strength shine through," she said.
