Say goodbye to Stars Hollow -- "Gilmore Girls" is officially over. Get out your kleenex.
In a statement to TMZ, the CW and Warner Bros. Television says it is "a truly sad moment for everyone" and promises to "give this series the send-off it deserves."
Sources tell TMZ that there were ongoing negotiations with the suits and the actresses in an effort to bring the show back for another season, but they were unable to seal the deal.
The final episode of the show, which launched the careers of Alexis Bledel and "Heroes" star Milo Ventimiglia, airs May 15.

4) Terry Has Just GOTTA KNOW: I just received an email stating that Jaleel White has died. Is that true?
Terry, this is absolutely NOT true! According to Chris Snyder, Jaleel's manager, he is "alive, working and very happy." In fact, Jaleel just finished filming for the movie 'Dreamgirls.' White will also begin working in the comedy 'Kissing Cousins' next week, in which he plays a father in the Navy who returns home for the birth of his new baby. 5) Catherine Has Just GOTTA KNOW: When is Janet's next CD coming out? Are she and JD getting married?
While we can't give up the goods on Jermaine Dupri and Janet's romance, we can confirm that Janet will be releasing an album later this fall. Expect to see Janet's 11th album '20 Years Old' hit the market on September 26, 2006. Today's your lucky day, April! As confirmed by her publicist earlier this week, Alexis is not dating former 'Gilmore Girls' co-star Milo Ventimiglia. Now although the WB is packing up, you can still expect to see Alexis starring as Rory Gilmore on the new CW network when the show begins airing again this fall.
