The shocking sex charges against designer Anand Jon continue to multiply -- this time, in New York. And now the Manhattan D.A. has issued a warrant for Jon's arrest and extradition to New York. The accused rapist is being held in an L.A. County jail.
TMZ has learned that a New York grand jury has just indicted Jon on 40 counts of criminal sexual acts, including rape in the first degree, criminal sexual acts (forcible sodomy), witness intimidation and numerous other charges. Jon's nine accusers were interviewed over the past week, and the alleged crimes occurred over the past five years, all in Manhattan, according to the Manhattan D.A.'s office.
And it gets worse.

Jailed fashion designer Anand Jon may be a free man in the next few days -- if he can raise the just over $2 million to post bail -- and his lawyer says it's likely.
L.A. Superior Court Judge David S. Wesley set the amount this morning. If Anand does post bail, he'll have to submit to electronic monitoring and will be prohibited from contact with females under 21. He would also be forbidden to leave L.A. County without permission.

The problems for jailed fashion designer Anand Jon just keep growing. TMZ was in court this morning when Anand was ushered in, handcuffed, wearing an unflattering orange jumpsuit. He was indicted by an L.A. County grand jury on a shocking 59 new counts of sexual assault. If convicted on all charges, Anand faces life in prison.

Stone-faced and silent, a clean-cut Anand Jon was taken out of a Beverly Hills courtroom wearing a brand new steel accessory around his wrists -- and TMZ caught the whole thing on tape!
As TMZ reported earlier, Jon was in court facing 13 new counts of sexual misconduct, when plainclothes officers, acting on a warrant issued in Dallas, placed the fashion guru under arrest on three counts of committing sexual assault with a minor in the state of Texas. Tears streamed down the faces of his mother and sister as he was tossed into the back of a police vehicle.
Jon, who often hung out with stars like Paris Hilton and Paula Abdul, faces a total of 46 counts of sexual wrongdoing in California. Jon's lawyer, Danny Davis, claims that, "It appears to be in this case, fairly, gossip among young models that's gone a little wild."
UPDATE: Shortly after the arrest, Anand Jon returned to a Beverly Hills courtroom -- in cuffs -- where he pled not guilty to the 13 new charges filed against him. During the proceeding, the prosecutor referred to Jon as a "serial rapist." The judge then remanded him to custody until he can post the $500,000 bail on the new Texas charges. Jon is due in Beverly Hills court again on August 28.

Celeb fashion designer Anand Jon will be charged with 13 more counts of sexual misconduct today in Los Angeles County Superior Court, including three new counts of rape -- raising the total number of charges against him to 46.
TMZ has learned that six new accusers have joined the case, bringing the total number of potential victims to 18 -- all ranging between the ages of 14 and 27. Among the horrific new charges, Jon, 33, is accused of sexual penetration by a foreign object, assault with intent to commit a felony, forcible rape and forcible oral copulation.
Jon, who was featured on MTV and often hung out with stars like Paula Abdul, Paris Hilton and Michelle Rodriguez, arrived to court this morning wearing a black suit and yellow tie, his hair trimmed and combed to the side. Witnesses inside the courtroom say he "has his game face on." Jon is currently out on $1.365 million bail, but we're told that prosecutors will request that bail be raised to $2.3 million.
Jon was originally arrested and jailed in March, after three potential victims came forward to police. Since then, the accusations and number of victims have rapidly grown.
Anand's attorney, Ronald Richards, has intimated in the past that Jon is being accused by disgruntled former models.

A business associate of Anand Jon, who was in Jon's apartment the morning after Jon allegedly sexually assaulted a woman, tells TMZ that he saw the woman that morning, and nothing seemed wrong.
The man, who wished to remain anonymous, says he arrived at Jon's apartment around 9:30 AM, and when he first saw the woman, she appeared to be in a "happy, giddy mood." He claims that she took a shower, tried on three pairs of Anand's jeans (and asked for a free pair), before leaving for lunch with other people who were at the apartment the night before.
Jon's friend says that he spoke with law enforcement, but got the bum's rush after "they didn't get the answers they wanted from me."
Several more accusers have since come forward. Jon faces a total of 32 counts involving sexual assault on a total of 12 women between the ages 14 and 23, all with ties to the fashion industry.
If convicted, Jon faces life in prison.

Additional charges have been filed against jailed fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander, including forcible rape and sodomy by use of force.
Earlier today, prosecutors filed a dozen new charges (eleven felonies and one misdemeanor) against Alexander in a Beverly Hills court, involving even more accusers, who now number twelve.
A rep for Alexander tells TMZ that the designer has been out of police custody for one week, after posting his $1.3 million bail.
Jon, who has been featured on MTV and is known to hang out with Paris Hilton, Paula Abdul and Michelle Rodriguez, was arrested by Beverly Hills Police on March 6, after one of his accusers reported him to authorities. Since then, he's been charged with a total of thirty-three felonies and misdemeanors, ranging from rape and sexual battery to committing a lewd act on a child, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor by giving her liquor.
His attorney, Ronald Richards, intimated that Jon is being accused by disgruntled former models.
