Law enforcement sources tell us even though the police report in the Chris Brown arrest refers to assault with a deadly weapon, there was no weapon involved in the alleged attack.
The police report cites Penal Code Section 245 -- Assault with a Deadly Weapon. However, we're told there was no weapon involved.
We had been hearing there was an umbrella in the car -- which would have been the most ironic thing ever -- but again... no weapon is alleged. By the way, a persons foot or other body part can be considered a deadly weapon depending on the circumstances.
One law enforcement source who has been dead-on so far claims Rihanna suffered contusions and bite marks.

That ridiculously awesome piece of evidence sitting in a police impound lot is running Chris Brown a cool $2k-per-day.
Chris rented the silver Lamborghini (in which he allegedly fought with Rihanna) from an exotic car boutique in L.A. called Platinum Motorsport -- and until he can get the car back to the business, Chris is gonna have to foot the bill.
Currently, the car is behind a chain-link fence with no official ETA on when it will be released.

TMZ has confirmed Rihanna is the named alleged victim in the Chris Brown case and the allegation is that she was assaulted with a deadly weapon.
Law enforcement sources tell us the crime report calls the incident assault with a deadly weapon -- we do not yet know the nature of the weapon.
The crime report gives the victim's name as Robyn Fenty -- that's Rihanna's real name.

This is a photo of Chris Brown and Rihanna 30 minutes before he allegedly fought with her in this car.
This shot was taken as the couple left Clive Davis' Grammy party in Beverly Hills just after midnight on Sunday morning.
One interesting thing -- they overshot their hotel by miles, ending up in Hancock Park, miles east of their West Hollywood hotel. We don't know where they were heading.

So why, you ask, was Chris Brown booked for making criminal threats rather than domestic abuse, given the victim -- we're told Rihanna -- had "visible injuries"?
Law enforcement sources tell us they typically book a suspect for the most serious crime they can be charged with -- it's then up to the D.A. to file any additional charges.
Given there were allegedly visible injuries, the crime of making criminal threats is punishable by up to nine years in prison. Domestic abuse is four years.

It appears this is the silver rental Lamborghini Chris Brown had driven the night of the alleged incident. We're told cops towed a vehicle from the scene at Hancock Park to a nearby police impound lot, where it still remains behind a chain-link fence.

While Rihanna waited in the car, Chris Brown pumped gas into his rented silver Lamborghini Friday night -- the same vehicle in which Brown allegedly went ballistic on a woman (identified by the L.A. Times as Rihanna) the following evening.
Brown turned himself around 7:00 PM last night and was released shortly after on $50,000 bail. The vehicle is currently sitting in an impound lot.

UPDATE: The L.A. Times has identified Rihanna as the alleged victim, citing LAPD sources familiar with the case.
Hours before he was arrested for making criminal threats, Chris Brown attended Clive Davis' pre-Grammy party with a smiling, unblemished Rihanna.

Chris Brown has officially been booked into the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department. He was driven to the station by high-powered attorney Mark Geragos.
Brown has been charged with one count felony criminal threats. His bail has been set at $50,000. He is still being investigated for a possible battery.
Geragos' past clients include Michael Jackson, Winona Ryder and Scott Peterson.
UPDATE 11:42 PM EST: TMZ has learned Chris paid his bail and was released.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Chris Brown is being investigated by the LAPD in an alleged assault on a female.
According to police, Brown and a woman whom cops refuse to identify were arguing inside a vehicle around 12:30 this morning when suddenly things allegedly turned violent.
Cops say they received a 911 call, and when they arrived they noticed the woman had visible injuries. We're told she then identified Brown as her attacker. Cops say Brown had left the scene by the time police arrived.
Cops say they are looking to speak with Brown and may arrest him when they find him.
When we called reps for Brown's girlfriend, Rihanna, for a statement, her people told us, "Rihanna is well. Thank you for your concern and support."
UPDATE: Grammy officials have just announced that Rihanna will neither perform on the show tonight -- as scheduled -- nor walk the red carpet for the event. The same announcement has been made about Chris.

As usual, no one wants to get in Suge Knight's way.
Suge and his two bigshot lawyers David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld just got the battery and drug charges stemming from that alleged GF beatdown tossed in Vegas. We're told the charges were dismissed because of a "lack of production in discovery and the failure of witnesses to be subpoenaed."
The judge told the prosecution they could go forward with their case without witnesses, but they chose dismissal instead.
We're also told the alleged victim was in court, and the judge told the prosecution they could refile the case.
Meanwhile, Mr. Knight tells TMZ, "God is good, and I've got the best two lawyers in America. Happy holidays."
UPDATE -- The prosecution has now decided to take the case to a grand jury. Mr. Chesnoff tells TMZ, "The grand jury will consider favorable evidence in regard to Mr. Knight, and we look forward to it."

Shauna Sand claims she was choked, punched and thrown across a room in front of her children -- and the bastard behind the alleged beatings is her very own husband.
The former Playmate received a temporary restraining order against Romain Chavent yesterday, after she filed documents in L.A. County Superior Court alleging that this weekend, her French hubby "hit me in the breasts, which i just had reconstructive surgery." It's the latest in a string of alleged violent abuse.
Among the claims, Shauna says Romain once "threatened to sell nude photos of my children that he took of them when he was babysitting." How could she say with this guy?
In the documents, Shauna also claims in March 2008, Chavent punched her in the stomach and threw her into a wall. And in 2007, Romain allegedly strangled, punched and threw Sand across the room. Shauna says she was granted a restraining order for the 2007 incident, but had it dismissed "because he promised to change."
But Romain has made accusations of his own -- once filing for a restraining order against Shauna in April because he claimed she threatened to ruin his life. Romain's claim was later dismissed.
Now, with the most recent accusations of abuse, Shauna has been granted another TRO that will remain in effect until the next hearing on December 22.
Attempts to contact Romain were unsuccessful.
