The long estranged daughter of Billy Bob Thornton has been charged with first degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated manslaughter of a one-year-old girl who died under her care.
Back in October, Amanda Brumfield told cops the child died after falling from her playpen -- but detectives had a hard time believing her story because it wasn't consistent with the little girl's injuries.
An autopsy determined the child suffered a fractured skull and a subdural hematoma due to blunt trauma.
When the story initially broke, Thornton's publicist told TMZ that the two haven't spoken for "quite some time."
TMZ has obtained the 911 call made the night a 1-year-old child being watched by Billy Bob Thornton's daughter suffered injuries that later took the child's life.
Amanda Brumfield can be heard trying to administer CPR and saying, "[She's] not moving, not reacting to anything" -- as her husband receives instructions from the dispatcher.
Brumfield was charged last week with child neglect.
Billy Bob Thornton's ex wife claims their daughter did nothing wrong during the events that led to the death of a 1-year-old child she was babysitting back in October -- and claims the incident was eerily similar to the death of Liam Neeson's wife.
TMZ spoke with Melissa Parish (former Melissa Gatlin), who told us her daughter Amanda Brumfield had "no reason" to call 911 when the baby fell from her playpen on that fateful night, because there were "no signs of distress. "
Parish compared the incident to the mysterious death of actress Natasha Richardson, who died a few days after a seemingly harmless fall while skiing, saying "When you have a situation that does not indicate distress ... there are no signs of distress, then there is no reason to immediately call police."
After the fall, Brumfield fell asleep with the child -- when she awoke hours later, the child's body was limp. Officials later determined the child died from a subdural hematoma caused by the fall.
Brumfield was later arrested and charged with child neglect.
Melissa told us Amanda was best friends with the baby's mother and was the baby's godmother -- and is devastated by what occurred.

Brumfield told police that after the baby had fallen, she discovered her tongue bleeding, so Brumfield cleaned it with a paper towel. She then says she began playing with the child, feeding her bananas and fruit snacks, and said she was "happy" and playful.
Brumfield then said she laid the child on the couch next to her and fell asleep. She says was awoken sometime later by the phone and decided to take the child back to the playpen. When she lifted her, Brumfield told cops she discovered her body was limp.
According to police, the call for help didn't come until two and a half hours after the original fall.
Brumfield is Thornton's child with his first wife, Melissa Gatlin.
UPDATE -- A rep for Thornton sent TMZ this statement: "Mr. Thornton is estranged from Amanda and has had no contact with her for quite some time, however when informed about this situation he commented that, 'Anytime a baby's life is lost is an unimaginable tragedy and my heart goes out to the baby's family and loved ones.'"
Billy Bob Thornton should have known better -- being impolite doesn't fly for Canadians.
The actor "musician" and his band, The Boxmasters, have canceled their last two Canadian tour dates with Willie Nelson following Billy Bob's now-infamous radio rant of d-bag awesomeness, according to an announcement on Willie's website.
But Billy Bob didn't just end his hissy fit in the studio. Apparently he went on stage later that night, in front of an all-Canadian audience, and called his interviewer an "asshole"... for, you know, asking Billy Bob questions.
