If you thought Billy Bush was infectious as the host of the Miss USA pageant, there's a reason -- he had mono.
Bush dropped the info on his Twitter page yesterday -- "Health has been off the last 2 wks. Tests are back. I have mono."
On a related note -- Billy planted a kiss on Miss Universe's face during the show. Miss U then kissed his co-host Nadine Velazquez ... who then kissed Miss West Virgina.
TMZ spoke to a rep for Miss Universe just a few minutes ago, who told us Miss U "feels fine ... no mono-like symptoms." We're trying to get in touch with the rest of the exposed ...
Mono, known as the kissing disease, can be spread by saliva, sharing drinks, kissing or even just being close when the person coughs or sneezes.

The Twittersphere is gettin' nasty -- with a fight brewing between E!'s Giuliana Rancic and Access Hollywood's Billy Bush!
The catfight started with Rancic dissing Miss California, and the exchange only got more heated from there.
Rancic: i know i'm a journalist, and i should be objective...but she is an ignorant discrace [sic] and she makes me sick to my stomach.
Bush: Giuliana...if you were a jouranlist [sic], you would have edited yourself at the last minute, but you are on E! and that's good too.
Bush: interesting. Tensions mount with passion. hard 4 people (not just G.R.) to remain level. but Obama has same stance as Miss USA. need him
Rancic: You're knocking E!??? Are you suddenly a hard-hitting anchorman? Speaking of editing, you spelled 'journalist' wrong.
Bush: the pressure of 140 got to me. but we have same news guidelines as Nightly News and Today Show. so no, but yes.
Then, 30 minutes later, Bush raised the white flag and surrendered.
Bush: All right, all right. I like Guiliana too and her husband Bill (a former judge). We're off point. My fault. GR...Sorry. May have news soon

Hold the phone!!! Billy Bush has made a last second recovery and is back in as host of the Miss USA pageant.
As we first told you (just a few hours ago), Billy bowed out because of a stomach bug and Mark Walberg (not that one) stepped in. In fact, Walberg even rehearsed this morning for Sunday's show.
But alas, pageant officials got a call this morning that Billy was feeling much better and was on his way to Las Vegas to resume his hosting duties.
Pepto does it again.

TMZ has learned Billy Bush has pulled out of hosting the Miss USA pageant this Sunday due to some sort of stomach illness, and Mark Walberg (no, not the guy from the Funky Bunch) is now taking his place.
Walberg, who hosts "The Moment of Truth," is taking on the exhausting task of looking at 50 beautiful women in bikinis.
Well played, Mr. Walberg.

Sometimes Billy Bush just doesn't know when to quit -- and last night on the Emmy red carpet, Jeremy Piven lashed out at him for it. Last night, during the red-carpet prelude to the Emmys, "Access Hollywood's" Bush corralled "Entourage's" Piven, and began a line of questioning concerning celebrity babies. Piven had just flown in from Arizona, where he was shooting a movie with Jennifer Garner, and so Bush asked him about Garner's baby Violet.
Bush then asked Piven if, given that Piven lives in Malibu, whether he had laid eyes on Brangelina's baby Shiloh. Piven said he hadn't, explaining that he had "116 other things to do...I don't go hunting for celebrity babies, thank you, Billy."
"You need another job. You have potential as a human being..."
Undeterred, or clearly not getting the message, Bush then asked if he'd seen Suri Cruise. Piven finally lost his patience. "You need another job. You have potential as a human being," said Piven, not at all hiding his irritation. "This may not be right for you. Seriously -- can you focus on other things?"
At least Bush got one thing right. He predicted -- correctly -- that Jeremy Piven would get his statuette, and Piven did, for his role as Ari Gold.
