Bob May -- who played The Robot in "Lost in Space" -- died early this morning at the Lancaster Community Hospital in California.
A rep for Bob said he was taken to the hospital on Friday, and died at around 3 AM this morning of congestive heart failure.
Back in November, Bob had a stroke soon after a fire consumed his California home.
Patricia Arthur, May's long time friend and agent, "asks all his fans to take a moment of silence as one of Science Fiction's greatest has passed. Family and friends will miss him dearly."
Bob was 69.

The robot from "Lost in Space" has lost his place!
Bob May, who played the robot from "Lost in Space", lost his home and everything in it during the recent fires in Southern California. A rep for the fixed-income actor says, "Along with his home, he lost all of his memorabilia and is now living with family to recover from this tragic event. He hopes to have all his fans thoughts and prayers while dealing with this unfortunate turn of events."
If only there was someone or something to warn him before the tragedy. Danger!

One of the most famous celebrity robots ever celebrated it's birthday this weekend in Bev Hills -- and no, we don't mean Posh.
Chances are nobody will recognize Bob May's face, but here's a hint: "Danger Will Robinson!"
