The guy Chris Jericho taunted on stage at the Sacramento Horror Film Festival isn't satisfied with just calling the wrestler an a-hole -- now he wants to settle things with the slur-slinger ... in a thumb-wrestling match.
Mr. Lobo issued a challenge to Chris Jericho to "wrassle" him with his thumb "anywhere, anytime" -- all because of the crap he had to put up with that came out of Jericho's drunken mouth.
It all looks like an innocent joke ... but we can't help but take something like this seriously when it involves -- as Mr. Lobo puts it -- "drunken celebrities embarrassing themselves and/or other people in public."
The guy who Chris Jericho targeted with racist and homophobic slurs on stage at the Sacramento Horror Film Festival isn't just saying Jericho was an "a-hole" that night -- he also claims Jericho's apologetic statement afterwards is a bunch of crap.
Mr. Lobo -- the guy who hosted the film festival -- says despite Jericho's claim that "everyone on stage was having a blast," he was deeply offended by the insensitive remarks and calls Jericho's statement a "complete fabrication."
Lobo claims Jericho never apologized to him and added, "I don't think [Chris] has the capacity to give an honest apology. I don't think it's in his character."
As TMZ first reported, Jericho went on a drunken slur-filled rant and called Lobo the homophobic f-word and another slur used to demean Middle Easterners.
For the record, Chris didn't even get his insult right -- Lobo says he's mostly Portuguese.
GLAAD isn't buyin' Chris Jericho's apology for using anti-gay and racist slurs at a recent event -- in fact, the gay rights group is going after the wrestler for being "insincere and worn."
Jarrett Barrios -- president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation -- tells TMZ:
"Just three months ago Chris Jericho's boss and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon acknowledged to GLAAD that words matter.
There is no time, context or occasion in which it is acceptable to utter racist and anti-gay slurs. Jericho's hollow apology 'if (he) offended anyone' is a template used by many and is insincere and worn."
WWE star Chris Jericho is wrestling with a pretty serious controversy -- after he made a slew of offensive slurs against Middle Easterners and gays.
Jericho was at the Sacramento Horror Film Festival two weeks ago ... for a screening of a movie in which he appears. During a Q&A session, Jericho referred to the moderator several times as "Hadji" -- a term sometimes used as a racial slur against Middle Easterners.
After the first wave of slurs -- and a random shot at Paris Hilton -- the host jokingly takes Jericho's drink to sniff it for booze, when Chris chimes back, "it's apple juice ... fag."
Jericho tells TMZ, "After seeing the video I realize some inappropriate comments were made and I apologize if I offended anybody." Jericho continues, "Just know that everyone on stage was having a blast and we all shared a drink and a laugh after! The good news is I got my wish of being posted on TMZ."
Apparently wrestling fans aren't too keen on fighting ignorance and illiteracy, because as soon as Rev. Al Sharpton stepped into the ring at Monday Night Raw to promote his education reform tour ... all he heard was "Boooooooo!"
On a positive note, maybe they were all just chanting "Booooooks."
Pap: "You're a wrestler ... so, do you think you have better abs than Barack Obama?" Chris Jericho: "As of right now I have better abs ... but pretty soon he's gonna take 65% of my abs away from me and give 'em to somebody else."
The WWE is officially weighing in on the Chris Jericho brawl in Victoria, BC yesterday, by releasing the following statement to TMZ:
"After leaving a live event in Victoria, British Columbia on Saturday evening, Chris Jericho's car was attacked by a mob when he was stopped at a stop sign. Unable to proceed, Chris Jericho exited his car to ask the crowd to clear a path so he could continue through the intersection. A man and a woman physically and verbally assaulted Mr. Jericho. Arena and WWE security arrived to establish enough order to allow Mr. Jericho to re-enter his vehicle and depart. The local police arrived minutes later. Mr. Jericho was unharmed in the incident. The WWE is working with local authorities who are investigating the incident to identify the man and woman who fled the scene."
It wasn't scripted -- WWE superstar Chris Jericho was involved in a crazy, expletive-filled mini-brawl with fans yesterday ... and one of the people involved was a woman.
It all went down after a WWE event at the Save-On Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria, BC -- an angry crowd began heckling Chris Jericho as he was driving out of the parking lot. When Jericho stared down a female fan, that's when things got violent...
In the video, it appears she spit on the wrestler -- Jericho flipped out and the woman was knocked to the ground. At that point, one of the dudes in the crowd rushes in to attack Chris.
Jericho managed to shove that guy away -- and others who got close. During the melee, Chris can be heard screaming at security to "do your f***ing job." Finally, security tackled one of the men to the ground and Chris was able to get in his ride and take off.
Cops in Victoria -- who are currently investigating the incident -- called it a "minor event."
UPDATE: Two people who were allegedly involved in the incident were arrested and later released without being charged, according to the Times Colonist.
Nothing says Christmas cheer quite like -- a few leather-clad hotties and some sweaty wrestlers!
The WWE Superstars and a couple of Divas traveled to Iraq to entertain the troops, even setting up a wrestling ring for a match at Camp Speicher.
Vince McMahon, John Cena and Chris Jericho all made the trip -- sporting fatigues. The Divas, however, had a little trouble following the camouflage guidelines. You can see all the wacky punches on USA this Christmas Eve.
Onetime wrestling star, Steve "The Lethal Weapon" Blackman believes the WWE is not responsible for the grisly double-murder/suicide of Chris Benoit ... and he's beseeching the King -- er, Larry King.
TMZ cameras were outside of Larry King's CNN studio in Hollywood last night, where our camera caught Blackman, as well as massive hunks John Cena and Chris Jericho, heading for an interview about Benoit.
Blackman was the only one who chirped up when our photog asked about Benoit's alleged steroid use, attempting to take pressure away from WWE by saying, "They're not the people to blame for this, any drug habits that started, started independently, long before they got to WWE." Blackman also said the media attention put on Benoit's possible steroid use -- toxicology reports are still pending -- are "blown out of proportion."
The WWE issued a similar statement last month, saying it was too soon to jump to the conclusion of "roid rage," specifically citing the timetable of the brutal murders as proof rage was not a factor, but no scientific evidence.
"Celebrity Duets" contestant and wrestling super star Chris Jericho showed TMZ and some lucky McDonald's patrons his chops while handing out cheeseburgers. He's a true renaissance man.
No one drops the F-bomb like Meat Loaf. The former rocker had plenty of enthusiasm as he presented the Best Video award at the Kerrang! Awards in London.
