Shaquille O'Neal gets the 2009 Thanksgiving award for quietly paying for the funeral of a little girl he never met.
Five-year-old Shaniya Davis was raped and murdered earlier this month. The alleged killer is behind bars, as is Shaniya's mother, who is charged with human trafficking and child abuse involving prostitution.
Shaq was so touched by the story he's footing the funeral bill -- estimated at $4,500.
The Cleveland Cavalier star told the Cleveland Plain Dealer, "Being a law enforcement guy that investigates crime against children, I wanted to be able to help in some way."
More than 2,000 people attended Shaniya's funeral last Sunday in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

Overcompensation -- noun -- excessive reaction to a feeling of inferiority, guilt, or inadequacy leading to an exaggerated attempt to overcome the feeling ... especially when someone expected to win the NBA championship doesn't even make the finals.
LeBron James rocked this egotistical t-shirt during a shopping break in N.Y. yesterday.
For the record -- you won't see Kobe Bryant wearing a shirt with his individual accomplishments plastered on the front of it during his championship parade today -- he's gonna let the trophy do the talking.

Chris Brown sat alongside Usher to watch the Orlando Magic put the smack down on the Cleveland Cavaliers in an NBA playoff game on Sunday in Orlando.
Fun fact #1 -- Usher is part owner of the Cavaliers.
Fun fact #2 -- Chris Brown was charged with felony assault for allegedly beating up his girlfriend Rihanna after attending a pre-Grammy party.

This is just plain ridiculous.
LeBron James made another one of those insane trick shots at practice yesterday -- except he hit this one from way BEHIND the goal!!
He did miss twice before sinking it -- so maybe he's human after all.

If LeBron James' Cleveland Cavaliers were still alive in the playoffs, he'd be in Cleveland right now getting ready to lose to the Lakers.
Instead, he's in L.A. hitting hotspots like the Ivy and Katsuya. No wonder he laughed when someone asked him about being out of the playoffs -- where would you rather be?
