Law enforcement sources tell us even though the police report in the Chris Brown arrest refers to assault with a deadly weapon, there was no weapon involved in the alleged attack.
The police report cites Penal Code Section 245 -- Assault with a Deadly Weapon. However, we're told there was no weapon involved.
We had been hearing there was an umbrella in the car -- which would have been the most ironic thing ever -- but again... no weapon is alleged. By the way, a persons foot or other body part can be considered a deadly weapon depending on the circumstances.
One law enforcement source who has been dead-on so far claims Rihanna suffered contusions and bite marks.
This is a photo of Chris Brown and Rihanna 30 minutes before he allegedly fought with her in this car.
This shot was taken as the couple left Clive Davis' Grammy party in Beverly Hills just after midnight on Sunday morning.
One interesting thing -- they overshot their hotel by miles, ending up in Hancock Park, miles east of their West Hollywood hotel. We don't know where they were heading.
That other newly married "Grey's" star, Ellen Pompeo was happy to sign an autograph for a "fan" -- only it wasn't her picture! Awkward! Also in New York, Tyra keeps her hood on to hide her face from photogs, and yes, diva, Kimora Lee is glad TMZ was at her fashion show!
In L.A., Adam Levine enjoys his eats, and Clive Davis reveals Whitney Houston is at work in the "studio." We sincerely hope that her new CD is everything it's cracked up to be.
After a post-dancing shopping trip to her new favorite store in the Valley -- named Index -- Lindsay Lohan emerged to the usual paparazzi crush, this time congratulated by a photog for her sobriety.
Also in L.A. -- Lionel Richie, Clive Davis and Chris Tucker having a power dinner at Orso, Mario Lopez getting swarmed on Robertson Blvd., and Cheryl Burke dressed-like-a-granny, and Elisha Cuthbert at Hyde.
In New York -- Mario Batali rocked his orange Crocs at a basketball court, Diddy and Busta Rhymes enjoyed themselves at Butter, Aretha Franklin went geisha outside Trump Towers, and Robin Thicke got a horrendous curbside serenade of his own song.
All this and more in today's "Sobriety Rules" edition of Star Catcher.
R&B diva Toni Braxton celebrated her forty-first birthday yesterday at Mr.Chow -- and Ms. Lady looks fabu!
There was an A-list turnout for her intimate dinner, including music mogulsaurus Clive Davis, mega entrepreneur Russell Simmons, and gorgeous actress Jenifer Lewis. And the rich folks can eat! At the end of the night, TMZ took a peek at the table's bill -- a whopping $2,933.80! Holy eggroll!
For such a small group of people, these folks did some major damage! Un-break the bank!
Whitney Houston met with Clive Davis at Nobu in New York yesterday and looked -- good?!
The R&B diva was looking more "Waiting to Exhale" and a less the hot mess as she exited the restaurant with the music titan. TMZ asked when her new album was coming out, and the refreshed looking Houston responded, "We're working on it!" Hell to the yes!
Now that she is divorced from Bobby Brown, completed a stay in rehab -- and signed a reported $100 million dollar deal in September with Arista Records -- the songstress is about to show Britney how a comeback is done! Or not.
After Clive Davis' very public display of rejection toward pop superstar Kelly Clarkson (via a speech that canonized Saint Carrie Underwood) on last night's "American Idol" finale, sources tell TMZ that SONY/BMG execs were apologizing to members of Clarkson's camp for their label head's rude behavior.
The 75-year-old owlish music mogul was tasked with speaking to the huge TV audience about the health of the "A.I" franchise and appeared to go out of his way to avoid mentioning Kelly's new single "Never Again" (which reached the Top 10 for heaven's sake!) or her forthcoming CD, "My December." Yet he somehow managed to find time to plug both Taylor Hicks and Katharine McPhee's new singles! Clive did briefly allude to two-time Grammy winner Clarkson -- but only to praise the talents of outside songwriters working with "Idols." Ouch!
Sources backstage at the finale report that Sony/BMG execs attempted to apologize to Kelly's team -- but their backtracking on behalf of the man with the golden ears fell on deaf ears. A well-placed source told TMZ, "Clive's actions, both delaying the album, and now this, tell you everything you need to know about how he feels about Kelly." That's no way to treat a 15-million-album-selling lady! As TMZ reported, the contentious feud erupted between honcho Davis and Kelly after she refused to make the "significant changes" to her new album (for which she wrote or co-wrote every song) -- that Clive demanded.
Artistic integrity - 1, The Man - 0!
A rep for Clive Davis told TMZ, "There is no truth to this story whatsoever. The focus of Clive's speech was on the recent Idol successes."
The post-baby, pre-wedding Katie Holmes is looking hot as ever, as she gears up for her November 18th marriage to Tom Cruise. Obviously, Tom's efforts to get Katie looking her best for the wedding are paying off. Divorce looks good on Whitney Houston. Her recent split from Bobby Brown has created some very favorable side effects, namely, looking hot while out on the town with music-mogul Clive Davis. We can't wait for her comeback album! Celebs love Halloween. Check out your favorite stars as captured by our cameras in Los Angeles.
