'Dog' Chases Car, Car Crashes, Perp Escapes

Dog the Bounty Hunter"Dog" Chapman was chasing one badass perp last night in Colorado -- so badass, in fact, that the guy was still able to escape Dog's grip after getting into a bad car accident.

Cops say just before midnight last night, Dog was tailing a guy who was wanted for being a no-show for a felony narcotics violation. According to KKTV, the dude's car suddenly crashed, rolling over in the process.

Not to be discouraged, cops say the perp jumped out of the wreckage and took off on foot -- and got away.

Now that's giving 110%.

'Dog' on Shooting -- I'm Not Making This Up!

Duane 'Dog' Chapman told Larry King last night why he thinks cops haven't found physical evidence at the scene of Tuesday's shooting incident: the alleged gunman used a revolver (which doesn't eject shells) and then ditched it when he fled the scene.

Beth Chapman: Multiple Witnesses Heard the Shot

Beth ChapmanBeth Chapman wants everyone to know yesterday's alleged shooting incident was the real deal -- despite a lack of physical evidence -- because there are multiple witnesses who can back up their story.

Beth tells us Duane "Dog" Chapman and the crew knew Hoang Nguyen was going to be a tough capture before they even went after him, because they were under the impression he was "dangerous" and a "known runner."

Mrs. Chapman says when "Dog's" team arrived at the Colorado Springs apartment complex where Hoang was holed up, 15-20 people were watching -- and when the alleged shot was fired she says the crowd had ballooned to around twice that size. The picture below was taken shortly after the shooting.

Despite the current lack of physical evidence -- like a gun, bullet hole or shell casing -- Nguyen was booked for attempted homicide.

'Dog' Hunter Booked for Attempted Homicide

Dog The Bouny HunterWe've just learned the guy who allegedly fired a handgun at Duane "Dog" Chapman has been booked for attempted homicide -- even though cops say they've found no physical evidence of a shooting.

Colorado Springs Police tell us there was no gun found on Hoang Nguyen's person, and they've yet to find a bullet hole or shell casing at the scene.

Cops says Nguyen was booked for attempted homicide simply based on the initial accusations by "Dog."

Shots Fired at 'Dog' Chapman

Duane "Dog" Chapman and one of his associates were shot at by a man they were trying to apprehend yesterday.

According to police in Colorado Springs, Colo., Chapman and bail bondsman Bobby Brown were attempting to bring in a man named Hoang Nguyen when he allegedly fired at least one shot at Chapman and Brown with a handgun before fleeing on a motorcycle.

Chapman and Brown were armed with paintball guns and returned fire.

Hoang was later arrested without incident by Chapman early this morning.

BTW -- Dog's film crew was there ... but missed the shot (pardon the pun).

Beth and Dog Out With Their Pups

Fugitives can rest easy -- for the moment! Dog and Beth Chapman arrived at LAX yesterday, with a whole litter of their kids, fresh off some bounty huntin'. Dog's voice was gone from barking at criminals, so Beth had to take charge and do all the talking.

Like most wives.

Dog Begs for The Rev

DOG CHAPMAN, AL SHARPTONTMZ has learned that Dog the Bounty Hunter has already contacted Rev. Al Sharpton, hoping to explain the racist telephone call Dog made to his son.

We're told The Rev, who is currently preaching in Daytona Beach, Fla., and hasn't heard the tape, is considering having a dialog with Chapman, but will not make his decision until he has a chance to listen.

UPDATE: TMZ has received the following statement from The Rev:
"Reverend Al Sharpton's National Action Network and the organization's Decency Initiative are unequivocally against the use of the "N" word in any context. While people have the freedom to express themselves in any matter in private, when those private conversations become public, it becomes our responsibility to state, as we always have, that we condemn the use of this word as racist and derogatory. Dog the Bounty Hunter has reached out to Reverend Sharpton who is traveling to promote his March on the U.S. Justice Department on November 16th against Hate Crimes and Racial Attacks and therefore Rev. Sharpton has not had a chance to hear the audio of the remarks. However, until he does hear the audio, National Action Network maintains that is against the use of the "N" word."

The Dog, The Carrot & a Couple of Melons

Duane "The Dog" Chapman isn't letting his legal woes get in the way. Still out on bail, Dog was spotted partying like a rockstar in Las Vegas this weekend.Carrot Top, Beth, The Dog and Andy Milinokis

Chapman and stacked wife Beth ate dinner at Stack in the Mirage -- next to Carrot Top, of all people, who now looks like a grownup musclebound Harriet from "Small Wonder." The unlikely threesome took in Jay Leno's standup act before hitting Vegas hotspot JET, where they were joined by pudgy party pal Andy Milonakis, who was working the door at the nightclub.

The table was served Skyy 90 Vodka and partied into the wee hours of the morning. We'd tell you the rest, but what happens in Vegas ... thankfully, stays there.

Dog to Federales: My Bad!

Duane Dog ChapmanDuane Dog Chapman- bounty hunter, reality star and all 'round bad ass- says he will apologize to Mexico in hopes of avoiding being sent back to face illegal detention charges.

The star of the A&E reality show "Dog the Bounty Hunter," his son Leland and Tim Chapman (say it with us- no relation) were arrested last week on charges stemming from their apprehension of convicted rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico. The Mexican government wants to have the three returned to the country to face charges which could carry a prison term of up to four years.

Brook Hart, Chapman's attorney, has said a resolution might include an apology to Mexico, a fine, forfeiture of the bail he posted in the country and a charitable contribution. While all three are currently out on bond, we can only hope that Mexico will know a good deal when they see it.

So you know Dog, if it were us, you'd have us at hello!

"Dog" Breaks Ratings Record for A&E

Duane "Dog: The Family Speaks," an A&E special about the recent arrest and possible extradition of Duane Dog Chapman, was seen by 4.5 million viewers Tuesday night. The show tied the network's previously most-seen program -- a "Dog the Bounty Hunter" special about Chapman's wedding.

The broadcast set the record among viewers 18-49 for the network.

Chapman was arrested last week by U.S. marshals and released on bail. He faces possible extradition stemming from a 2003 case in which Chapman captured fugitive Andrew Luster, who was wanted on rape charges at the time, in Mexico -- where bounty hunting is illegal.

The A&E special included exclusive interview footage of Dog and his wife Beth that was shot just after his release.

The Dog and Family Speak Out

Following the release of bounty hunters Duane Dog Chapman, his son Leland, and business partner Tim Chapman, A&E will air a one-hour special, "DOG: THE FAMILY SPEAKS" Tuesday, September 19 at 10:00 ET/PT. The special will include exclusive interview footage of Dog and his wife Beth shot just after his release.

The show will feature a first-hand look at Dog's arrest by U.S. Marshals, and chronicle the events leading up to the arrest, starting with the hunt for convicted rapist Andrew Luster. Dog, Leland, and Tim were taken into custody Thursday morning in connection with their 2003 capture of the Max Factor heir who fled the country to live in Mexico. Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico, so Mexican authorities arrested Dog and his team and charged him with kidnapping. Those charges are still pending in Mexico.

Please Let the Dog Out!

A petition has been created online to support Duane "The Dog" Chapman, as a plea to set him free. The petition asks both the U.S. and Mexican governments to drop all warrants and charges against Dog, Leland (his son), and Tim Chapman (no relation).

Dog was arrested September 14
by U.S. Marshals on a request from the Mexican government. The request stems from Dog's 2003 apprehension of Max Factor heir and fugitive from justice Andrew Luster in Mexico. Luster jumped his $1 million bail while on trial for drugging and raping several women in Southern California, attacks Luster also videotaped. Dog chased Luster to Puerta Vallarta where he arrested him and brought him back to the U.S. The only problem-- bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico and Dog and his co-horts were thrown in the slammer. They were eventually released, but the Mexican government has charged Dog and his associates with kidnapping and want him back down south to face those charges.
