General Lee Up on the Block -- Again!

John Schneider put the General Lee up for sale a few weeks ago, and it "sold" on eBay for almost $10 million ... until the bidder turned out to be a chump!

Now the "Dukes of Hazzard" car is going back on eBay, but this time John "Bo Duke" Schneider has contracted a private company to pre-approve all bidders in advance of the sale, which started May 19.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Pepperdine University's Boone Center for the Family.

John Schneider: Put Up or Shut Up!!

"Dukes of Hazzard" star John Schneider issued this statement to TMZ, following the revelation that the high bidder in an auction to buy the General Lee backed out:

"As the week has progressed, it appears more and more evident that the winning bidder from my 'Bo's General Lee' auction has no intention of coming up with the promised funds. The deadline for deposit was missed on Monday and nobody is more upset or disappointed than I am. I have been on the phone with my lawyer in Century City [Calif.] all week and am taking steps to force compliance of the winning bidder to the rules and regulations of the auction. This may have been the most publicly viewed auction ever! People's word should be their bond."

Dang! That's tough talk from Bo Duke!

General Lee eBay Bidder a Phony!

TMZ has learned the $10 million man who bid on John Schneider's "General Lee" automobile has reneged on his bid to buy the famous ride.
General Lee
A source connected to the sale tells TMZ that the first deposit deadline for Mr. William Fisher, the winning bidder, was missed for making any type of formal payment arrangements with Schneider. He had originally been given seven days from the auction's close to work out the deal.

Schneider has since filed a "failure to pay" complaint with eBay and is currently meeting with attorneys to discuss "some sort of legal action."

A rep for Schneider tells TMZ, "John is looking into his options. We cannot calculate the point where legitimate bidders would have topped out if it were not for fraudulent bidding, but it seems to have been in the range of $5 million."

As for your shot at the General Lee, there's hope. The good thing to come out of this, says our source, is that auction houses across the country have contacted John for a chance to put the car up on blocks.

Coo coo coo!

Actor Captures Shooting Aftermath on Tape

Shattered glass and broken parts dangled from the window of a Dodge Charger being towed by "Smallville" co-star John Schneider yesterday, after the actor was apparently shot at while driving to the premiere of his new movie, "Collier & Co."

"Near as I can tell, somebody ... was tryin' to shoot a deer and wound up shootin' the traveler!"

No one was injured in the Deliverance-like escapade. Schneider, who played Bo Duke in the classic "Dukes of Hazzard" TV series, was delighted that the bullet struck his least favorite car and, of course, not him!

April Fills Out Daisy's Dukes

April Scott: Click to WatchStepping into the famous shorts donned by Jessica Simpson and the iconic Catherine Bach isn't easy, but "Deal or No Deal" model April Scott is up to the challenge.

While rumors were swirling that "Laguna Beach" babe Kristin Cavallari would step into the role, the prequel to last summer's hit remake of "The Dukes of Hazzard," the honor went to April, a relative unknown.

Scott isn't scared of the comparisons that will likely be made between her and her predecessors. "They're not going the exact same way," April says of the film, "I think I'm somewhere between Jessica Simpson and Catherine Bach, it's a nice medium."

Expect to see a lot of the Maxim Hot 100 babe's long legs in the film, which April tells us explains how her character came up with her now legendary shorts and just whose attention Daisy's been trying to grab by wearing them.

Jonathan Bennett and Randy Wayne join April as they step into Bo and Luke Duke's shoes and Willie Nelson returns as Uncle Jesse in the film, which will be a direct to DVD release sometime next year.
