The wait is over ... media icon and weight loss guru Oprah Winfrey just announced her latest breakthrough diet -- corn dogs smothered in mustard.
Oprah and BFF Gayle King took a road trip to the Texas State Fair in Dallas yesterday to tape a special show -- which will air later this fall -- and based on the pictures we got of Oprah in a cowboy hat chowing down on a corn dog, she completely gave up on the traditional low-fat approach to dieting -- at least temporarily.
Our fair source claims Oprah also had herself a little of the fair's famous deep fried butter. No joke ... but so far, no confirmation on the battered butter from O's peeps.
Still, that's the kind of diet we can wrap our arms around.
UPDATE: It's confirmed -- Oprah ate the fried butter! In fact, she called it "the best treat of the fair."

Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King have a sacred bond -- and yesterday in NYC, Alicia Keys tried to infiltrate the BFFship.
Though the three ate together at Philippe Chow, the dynamic duo didn't take Alicia home.

Turns out Gayle doesn't wear the pants in Oprah's family after all, at least according to Stedman as he blew out of Washington, D.C. yesterday.

We're confused. Gayle King said the whole "Sarah won't be on Oprah during the campaign" thing was a "nasty internet rumor." But Oprah gave us a statement saying exactly that. And then the photog confessed he had a crush on Palin ... and Gayle was suspicious ...

Oprah definitely spoils BFF Gayle King -- but, according to Gayle, the big O ain't putting a new roof over her head.
Last month, TMZ confirmed that Oprah bought a killer $7.1 million Manhattan penthouse (and supposedly for Gayle) but King tells TMZ she's not relocating to the city anytime soon. And we've asked peeps at the building -- no sign of Gayle or O since then.
Oprah's LLC, Sophie's Penthouse, did purchase the pad though -- so who's moving in?

Sporting some flawless make-up, big hair and killer stems, Gwen Stefani was looking superb outside the Waverly Inn in NYC, no Gavin or Kingston James in sight.
Also in New York: Laid back hip hop star Common, a deja vu feelin' Gayle King, and John Leguizamo, who got a little shout-out from a fan outside the Waverly.
In L.A.: Jermaine Dupri, chicken dancer Bai Ling and Mr. Chow himself were spotted at his Beverly Hills eatery. Brody Jenner and David Beckham opted for Japanese at Koi and a camera-shy Elisha Cuthbert hit up Hyde.
All this and more in today's "Wind it Up Already" edition of Star Catcher.

If it wasn't already totally evident that Oprah Winfrey can talk about anything for any length of time, her debut today on her own XM Radio channel just confirmed it. The talk-show queen gabbed with her best pal Gayle King (who called her, inexplicably, "Mommy") on what is nominally King's show on "Oprah & Friends," the satellite channel that launched today.
Among many, many other things, Oprah talked about her humble beginnings in Mississippi, and particularly about how her mother's highest aspiration for her was that she might end up cleaning white people's houses, because "they give away nice clothes." And then Oprah pointed out that now that she's Oprah, she has "all these white people" working for her, and that in fact there's only one black person on the staff. Way to turn the tables, girl.
Finally -- and this was just in the first fifteen minutes -- Oprah moved onto her most recent favorite topic, excrement. O assured Gayle that the reason she doesn't have children wasn't that she can't deal with poo, or "pooty," as the pair called it. For this -- and whatever follows -- is what XM is paying Oprah $55 million over the next three years.

The season premiere of "The Oprah Winfrey Show" started out with a bang... er... well, a rich person having a hard time doing a simple everyday task.
To open the show, Oprah and her BFF Gayle King embarked on a cross-country road trip surprising unsuspecting Americans by dropping in unannounced at weddings and other events. The toughest part of the trip for Oprah however wasn't the road itself, but at the gas station. The Queen of TV had to be helped out as she fumbled with the pump, saying "I haven't pumped gas since 1983."
Lucky for her, someone came to her rescue and demonstrated the proper technique for fueling your car. We aren't the only ones laughing as Oprah realized how silly the task was and said "I feel kind of stupid not being able to pump gas, but I thought, well maybe they've changed the pumps since I've last pumped."
On the other side of the United States, Paris Hilton showed Oprah how it's done. Paris proved she's the pro at the pump-- one-handed, in high-heels and talking on the phone.

Oprah's longtime best friend Gayle King appeared on "The View" this morning, and further squashed speculation that she and the talk-show empress might be lovers.
King called the rumors swirling about her and her best friend "silly," and that the chatter is perhaps most hurtful to Oprah's man Stedman Graham, who has been conspicuously absent from Oprah's side at recent events.
She did tell Barbara, Joy, and Elisabeth about Oprah's very kind gifts, like paying for a nanny and a double-wide stroller when her son was born, and trips to Europe. She also revealed that she and Oprah share footwear, that Oprah can't stand listening to the radio (which she found out on a recent cross-country car trip), and that she was once mistaken for Destiny Child's Kelly Rowland, who happened to be the guest co-host.
Gayle says she'd tried to do her part to get her much richer BFF Oprah back -- on a trip to Dairy Queen, says King, she magnanimously told O to put her wallet away. "I'll handle this," said King.

Sources connected with Barbara Walters and ABC tell TMZ that Barbara Walters is angry at Meredith Vieira for leaving 'The View.' We're told that Walters feels betrayed after giving Vieira such a launching pad over the last nine years.
