Tiger Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, changed the story she told the first officer on the scene, according to law enforcement sources.
The Windemere Police Department says Tiger's wife went outside, saw that her husband had struck a fire hydrant and a tree, and then went back inside the house for a golf club to use to try and extricate him from the vehicle. But we've learned Nordegren told a very different story to the Florida Highway Patrol, and it does not involve going back in the house for a club. Our sources will not allow us to be more specific.
And we've learned there was no blood found on the steering wheel of Tiger's SUV -- putting into serious doubt that Tiger sustained his injuries from the crash.
As we first reported, Tiger had a conversation with a friend yesterday, in which he said his wife had confronted him over reports he was involved with another woman ... and that his wife scratched his face up during the argument. Tiger told the friend he then left the house, started driving off and his wife then came out with a golf club, striking the vehicle. Tiger then became distracted and hit the hydrant and then a nearby tree.
We're told cops will interview Tiger and his wife later today.
UPDATE: A neighbor tells TMZ they saw cops show up at Tiger's house this morning -- only to get turned away again. Tiger's wife, Elin, was spotted (below) driving out of the Isleworth subdivision in Windermere earlier today.

Tilda Swinton's life is about to become hell -- the Academy Award winner is officially picking a fight with Donald Trump ... and we all know how that usually turns out.
Swinton just signed an anti-Trump petition, accusing His Hairness of bullying residents in Scotland in order to make way for a brand new state-of-the-art golf course developed by the Trump Organization.
Trump got permission to build on the land back in 2008, but critics -- like British-born Tilda -- are trying to crush Donald's plan, claiming some local residents could be evicted to make way for the links. Trump has also taken heat from people saying his plans are "environmentally unfriendly."
Trump hasn't repsonded personally -- yet -- but his Scottish rep claims Tilda is siding with "extremists."
Let the battle begin...

On Tuesday in Australia, Jurassic rocker Alice Cooper started his day on the golf course (left) -- and ended it on stage, looking like a corpse (right).
The 61-year-old has credited golf with helping him overcome his alcohol addiction.
Unfortunately, Alice still hasn't found a cure for his dependence on age-inappropriate leather and embalming makeup.

Golf can be an incredibly frustrating game. How else can you explain the hideous clothes golfers wear? These are very frustrated people!
In order to alleviate some of that frustration, a company has created a high-tech putter with an unfortunate name. The DiXX putter has a computer terminal placed on the putter that measures every conceivable bit of information you can think of, and even some you can't.

Man, that Simpson guy is one seriously crappy golfer.
For a guy who's been doing almost nothing but play golf for the last ten years, you'd think he wouldn't suck so bad -- but it has to be seen to be believed.
Maybe he just plays because he likes riding in white vehicles that go really, really slow.

Pop singer Pink and her husband, motor-cross racer Carey Hart, took time out of their busy schedules to enjoy the life of the privileged.
The couple invaded 18 holes in Los Cabos Mexico over the weekend. While Pink seemed to be concentrating on her stroke, Carey was more distracted with the view than his score.

Tiger Woods claimed his third victory at the British Open this weekend, his first big win without his father and mentor Earl Woods by his side. Earl passed away in May after a long battle with cancer.
It was an emotionally draining day for Woods. Luckily for Tiger, his stunningly beautiful wife Elin Nordegren was by his side to provide comfort. Just who is this gorgeous link in the Woods chain? She once worked as a nanny for golfer Jesper Parnevik's kids, but now is working on making a name for herself as a model.

Tiger Woods was in New York over the weekend, taking part in the 2006 U.S. Open Golf Tournament. Woods had a disappointing two-round total, missing the cut in a major championship for the first time in 40 appearances as a professional.
Tiger fans got a unique glimpse into his very private life, however, when Nike aired a commercial that paid tribute to his dad on Father's Day. Tiger's father Earl Woods passed away on May 3 after a long battle with cancer. The ad was a montage of videos and photographs from Tiger's childhood and young golfing career.
The last part of the video had the poignant words "To Dad and fathers everywhere."
