Jacob the Jeweler to Bling it Behind Bars

Can you ice out a prison cell? Hip-hop bling king Jacob the Jeweler has just been sentenced to two and a half years in the federal pen for lying to investigators looking into a multi-state drug ring.

43-year-old Jacob Arabov copped a plea last October to doctoring records and lying to the Feds.

In court Jacob said, "I feel ashamed that I broke the laws of this country, a country that has been so good for me. I will carry this shame for the rest of my life."

Cops arrested the jeweler in 2006 at his Manhattan shop on charges he and several others conspired to launder roughly $270 million in drug profits.

Bling King Busted On Drug Charges

Jacob Arabo, known worldwide as Jacob the Jeweler, was arrested Thursday morning on charges stemming from a federal indictment of 16 people in Detroit.

The May 10 indictment, from the U.S. Attorney of the Eastern District of Michigan and unsealed today, alleges 16 defendants violated federal drug laws and laundered in excess of $270 million.
