Joaquin Phoenix jumped off the stage and attacked a fan at a Miami show last night -- but, like anything with him these days, the whole thing could be one big set up.

It all went down at LIV nightclub at the Fontainebleau, when Phoenix exchanged insults with a guy in the crowd telling the heckler, "I've got millions of dollars in my f**king bank account. What do you got?"
Phoenix then launched himself off the stage and started throwing punches at the "f**king a**hole." The crowd erupted and started chanting "Joaquin, Joaquin" until Phoenix was eventually dragged away by club security.
FYI -- Casey Affleck was filming the whole thing.

Joaquin Phoenix brought his phony stony act to David Letterman last night -- and while Letterman thought he was catching the wannabe rapper in an altered/inebriated state, it's Dave who was likely hoodwinked.

We've been on to Joaquin's scam for weeks now -- no doubt he's shooting a mockumentary with Casey Affleck ... pretending he's quitting acting to become a rap star -- even though his singing sucks -- and showing how the media will fall for it.
In Dave's defense -- he ripped the guy apart, ending the interview with "Sorry Joaquin couldn't be here tonight."

Joaquin Phoenix decided to spit rhymes into a mic the other night at a bar in Culver City, Calif. -- which caused everyone who heard him to spit up in their mouths.

The guy just quit acting to become a rock star ... and if this freestyle disaster is any clue as to how his music career will go, let's just say it's DOA.

Lindsay Lohan's mom insists she never told Star Magazine that her nickname is "The White Oprah," a moniker born of her willingness to listen to her friends' problems. And Oprah's dad has denied reports he is writing a tell-all book. But not everyone this week got off so lucky.
Anne Heche: She does girl-on-girl, she does guy-on-girl. Heck, she can even talk dirty in an alien language if that's your thing. But apparently, none of this was enough to satisfy 34-year-old hubby Coleman "Coley" Laffoon, who Anne claimed has spent a great deal of their marriage surfing the Internet for porn. It's all part of Hollywood's latest nasty divorce battle, with custody of five-year-old son Homer hanging in the balance. The title of Heche's 2001 autobiography is "Call Me Crazy," and that's just what Laffoon has been doing, criticizing her parenting skills in his court filings. Meanwhile, Heche's Christian mom once claimed to have cured her daughter's lesbianism through prayer -- so maybe she can dial up the Big Guy again to ensure Laffoon gets nowhere near the $45,000 a month he is asking from the "Men in Trees" wackadoodle.

Didn't Joaquin Phoenix have a different name before?
Yes, Ivette, Joaquin used to answer to another name -- Leaf! But it was not his birth name. He has always been Joaquin, but used the alias Leaf as a child and as a young actor. Around 1989, he dropped that name and returned to Joaquin.
That said, Joaquin will next be seen in "We Own the Night" with Mark Wahlberg, Robert Duvall and Eva Mendes. He will also star with Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Connelly in the thriller "Reservation Road." Expect both flicks out next year.

Wasn't Patricia Heaton supposed to get a TV show?
Sal, everybody's favorite Barone is indeed supposed to continue on with her television career. "The Path to 9/11" is a mini-series documenting the events which lead up to the tragic event. She can be seen here along with Donnie Wahlberg and Harvey Keitel on September 10 and 11 on ABC at 8/7c.
Her comedy pilot, however, did not get picked up, but, according to ABC president Stephen McPherson, it could be considered for a midseason replacement.

1) Lola Has Just GOTTA KNOW: When is Avril Lavigne getting married?
TMZ recently did a story on ex-punker Avril Lavigne and fiancé Sum 41 front man Deryck Whibley back at the beginning of April, in which plans for a summer wedding were revealed. Now although her reps couldn't be reached for comment, there are no imminent signs of these two singing sweethearts calling it quits. 2) Both Edie and Jen Have Just GOTTA KNOW: What is Joaquin Phoenix up to? Does he have any upcoming films?
Since his Academy Award nomination for Best Actor in "Walk the Line," Joaquin Phoenix has finished filming for the movie "We Own the Night," set for release next year. In this film, the manager of a New York nightclub takes on the duty of protecting both his father and brother as members of the Russian mafia have it out for them. For Phoenix photos, take a look at these.
3) Andrea Has Just GOTTA KNOW: What is the deal between Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova -- is it the real thing or just a fling?
Singing sensation Enrique Iglesias and former tennis star Anna Kournikova have been romantically linked for the past four years after Anna starred in Enrique's hit song "Escape." And since then, they've been inseperable! In fact, this photo was taken a little over a month ago when the two were spotted at the NBA Eastern Conference semifinals, where the New Jersey Nets and Miami Heat battled it out. So yes, Andrea, it's safe to say this is no fling! For la musica de Enrique, check this out.

25 VIPs expected to arrive in the fuel-efficient cars
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS
(Mar. 4) -- Oscar nominees Joaquin Phoenix, Jake Gyllenhaal and Frances McDormand are among those expected to step out of green vehicles and onto the red carpet at the Academy Awards ceremony Sunday.
In all, 25 VIPs are participating in the fourth annual "Red Carpet, Green Cars" event sponsored by Toyota Motor Corp. and the environmental organization Global Green USA. McDormand, Phoenix, Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Aniston and George Clooney are all expected to arrive at the Oscars in Toyota or Lexus hybrids, including the Toyota Prius, Lexus RX crossover and a hybrid version of the Toyota Camry, which goes on sale in May.
Event spokeswoman Kathy Kniss said the program began with just four participants in 2002, but interest in fuel-efficient vehicles has grown exponentially since then.
"There's a huge, huge following. People are flocking to the hybrids," Kniss said.
Other automakers are also getting into the act. Ford Motor Co. said Cathy Schulman, the producer of best-picture nominee "Crash," plans to arrive in a hybrid Mercury Mariner, while best-supporting-actor nominee Gyllenhaal's entourage is scheduled to show up in a Ford Excursion powered by clean-burning biodiesel.
General Motors Corp. also will be bringing VIPs to the ceremony, but its focus will be on luxury rather than fuel efficiency. GM spokeswoman Ryndee Carney said a fleet of 50 Cadillacs mostly 2007 Escalade SUVs will be used to pick up and drop off celebrities. Carney said the automaker also will run ads during the broadcast featuring GM's two other luxury brands, Hummer and Saab.

The cowboy love story "Brokeback Mountain" led the Academy Awards field Tuesday with eight nominations, among them best picture and honors for actor Heath Ledger and director Ang Lee.
Also nominated for best picture were the Truman Capote story "Capote"; the ensemble drama "Crash"; the Edward R. Murrow chronicle "Good Night, and Good Luck"; the assassination thriller "Munich."
The Johnny Cash biography, "Walk the Line," considered a likely best picture nominee, was shut out, though Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon earned acting nominations for the film.
George Clooney picked up three nominations: as supporting actor for his role as a steadfast CIA undercover agent in "Syriana" and best director and co-writer for his Edward R. Murrow tale "Good Night, and Good Luck."
Along with best-actor contender Ledger, and directing nominee Lee, "Brokeback Mountain" scored nominations for Michelle Williams as supporting actress, Jake Gyllenhaal as supporting actor and Larry McMurtry and Diana Ossana for their screenplay adaptation of Annie Proulx's short story.
The acting categories were a mix of familiar Oscar faces such as past winners Judi Dench and Charlize Theron, veterans like Clooney, Witherspoon, Rachel Weisz, David Strathairn and Felicity Huffman gaining their first academy attention, and young performers such as Williams and Amy Adams.
Philip Seymour Hoffman, the best-actor favorite for his remarkable impersonation of author Truman Capote in "Capote," joined Ledger in the best-actor category. Hoffman has triumphed at earlier film honors, including the Golden Globes.
Along with Hoffman, Ledger and Phoenix, the other nominees were Terrence Howard as a small-time hood turned rap singer in "Hustle & Flow" and Strathairn as newsman Murrow in "Good Night, and Good Luck."
The best-actress race presumably will shape up as a two-woman contest between Huffman in a gender-bending role as a man about to undergo sex-change surgery in "Transamerica" and Witherspoon as singer June Carter, Cash's musical companion and future wife, in "Walk the Line."
Huffman won the Golden Globe for best dramatic actress, while Witherspoon earned the Globe for best actress in a musical or comedy. Witherspoon beat Huffman on Sunday for the best-actress prize at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Also nominated for the best-actress Oscar were Dench as a society dame who starts a nude stage revue in 1930s London in "Mrs. Henderson Presents"; Keira Knightley as the romantic heroine of the Jane Austen adaptation "Pride & Prejudice"; Charlize Theron as a mine worker who leads a sexual-harassment lawsuit against male co-workers in "North Country."

Us Weekly reports that Golden Globe-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix was involved in a car accident Thursday morning while driving in the Hollywood Hills. ''His brakes went out and the car flipped over,'' the actor's publicist, Susan Patricola, told Us. ''But he's doing fine. He may be very sore in the morning, but right now he is doing okay.''
Although the exact circumstances of the accident are under investigation, Patricola told Us that the 31-year-old star was driving at the time and was not hospitalized. According to Us the accident occurred on a winding stretch of Laurel Canyon Boulevard just north of Sunset Boulevard in the Hollywood Hills.
The actor is nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award which is set to be handed out on January 29. ''Joaquin will be at the awards on Sunday,'' Patricola tells Us. ''He'll be okay.''

FOLSOM, Calif. -- Joaquin Phoenix, whose portrayal of Johnny Cash in "Walk the Line" has made him an early Oscar front-runner, returned Tuesday to the scene of one of the musician's most famous concerts -- Folsom State Prison.
Cash's Jan. 13, 1968, performance in a prison yard cemented his image as working-class hero and became a popular live album. About 54 inmates watched the movie in the Sacramento suburb as the actor and his entourage, including musician Shooter Jennings, son of Waylon Jennings, and a host of prison officials toured the facility.
Phoenix was also expected to perform several songs for the inmates.
The event was organized by Prison Fellowship, a group that runs Bible studies and other educational programs in prisons. Fellowship spokesman Joe Avila said the movie's message would be good for inmates because Cash's "whole life was a message of redemption."
"The movie is about how he screwed it up really bad, and he turned to Jesus Christ to help him change," Avila said.
