Mia Farrow to Spielberg: Don't Act Like a Nazi Filmmaker!

Mia Farrow vs. Steven SpielbergMia Farrow lashed out at Steven Spielberg for his involvement with the 2008 Beijing Olympics, going so far as to compare the Oscar-winning director to a Nazi filmmaker! Oy gevalt!

Spielberg is consulting on the opening and closing ceremonies for the Beijing games. In a Wall Street Journal article titled, "The Genocide Olympics," Farrow accuses China of "bankrolling Darfur's genocide" in Sudan, and calls Spielberg (and various corporate sponsors) to task for attempting "to sanitize Beijing's image." Farrow wants them to use their power to put pressure on the Chinese government in order to end the slaughter in Darfur.

Farrow demanded, "Does Mr. Spielberg really want to go down in history as the Leni Riefenstahl of the Beijing Games?" Riefenstahl, who died in 2003 at age 101, was the German film director famous for her Nazi propaganda films, "Olympia," and "Triumph of the Will."

Notably, Spielberg produced and directed "Schindler's List." His proceeds from the film go directly to the Shoah Foundation, dedicated to preserving the testimony of genocide survivors, including the Holocaust.

TMZ contacted Steven Spielberg's rep, who had no comment.

What if Your Kid Were the Anti-Christ?

The wave of horror movie remakes continues next week, when the 1976 classic 'The Omen' gets a makeover. The original film tells the story of Damien Thorn, born on June 6 at 6 a.m., who is switched at birth in Rome with the murdered infant of an American diplomat.

Liev Schreiber steps into the role of Robert Thorn, who doesn't tell his wife (played by Julia Stiles) that their biological baby died after child birth. He lets her believe Damien is their own flesh and blood. Little do they know, their child is actually the anti-Christ, destined to create hell on Earth.

Schreiber believes the remake is certaintly warranted and will still resonate with audiences, saying, "I think this film freaked so many people out in 1976 and I think that it will freak as many people out again in 2006, and that is because I think it does tap into something cultural."

Mia Farrow also stars in the film, taking on the role of Damien's creepy nanny and willing servant, Mrs. Baylock. This marks a vast departure from her role in Roman Polanski's demon-seed flick 'Rosemary's Baby,' where she played the unwitting mother of Satan's spawn.

The film, which premiered Wednesday night in New York, opens June 6 (the sixth day of the sixth month in the sixth year, 666, get it?).
