UPDATE 8:33 PM PT: Cops tell TMZ Tyson was released on his own recognizance.
UPDATE 8:13 PM PT: Tyson has been booked for misdemeanor battery and his bail has been set at $20,000. The photog was also booked on misdemeanor battery -- Tyson claims the photog got so close he actually made contact with the boxer.
TMZ has learned Mike Tyson has been arrested at LAX airport for battery after a bloody confrontation with a paparazzo outside the United terminal. We're told Tyson punched the pap in the face and there is blood everywhere.
We're told Tyson was at a ticket counter at the United Airlines terminal when the incident occurred. The photographer got punched in the face, hit the ground, got up and began walking, leaving a trail of blood. An LAPD spokesperson said the photographer suffered a minor laceration to the forehead.
Someone at the scene tells TMZ ... the photographer got very close to Tyson before the boxer struck him. Our says there's blood on the ground and Mike was taken away in a squad car. We're told an ambulance was dispatched at 4:39 PM to LAX and the paparazzo was transported to a local hospital.
Cops say Tyson and the photographer performed citizen's arrests on each other -- both are expected to be booked for misdemeanor battery. Cops also said witnesses backed both stories ... so that could get interesting.
If Tyson is prosecuted, given that he's a former boxing champ, the charge could end up being assault with a deadly weapon.
Tyson's rep says he was traveling with his 10-month old daughter when he was attacked by an overly aggressive paparazzi -- adding the boxer acted in self-defense to protect his child.

Mike Tyson was so dedicated to keeping his Las Vegas wedding private this weekend that his photographer had to double as a "witness" on the marriage certificate.
TMZ obtained a copy of Tyson's State of Nevada Marriage Certificate -- which made the intimate ceremony at the Las Vegas Hilton official. Tyson and Lahika Spicer tied the knot without the presence of invited guests.

50 Cent finally buried the hatchet in the legal war over his 52-room Connecticut mansion -- and not one person had to get shot.
Moments ago, Fiddy reached settlement with the engineering firm he accused of misleading him about repairs and renovations on the ridiculously huge estate before he bought it from Mike Tyson.
Fiddy claims he never would have bought the crumbling mansion had the firm he hired to inspect it done a proper job. Repairs for the house were estimated by the company at $500,000 -- 50 Cent says he has shelled out millions.
So far, details on the settlement are being kept under wraps.

A rep for the Phoenix Police Department has just released the following statement regarding Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter:
I was just advised by investigators that Exodus Tyson was pronounced deceased at 11:45 AM today at the hospital. Our sympathies go out to the family.
Paramedics were called to Tyson's Phoenix home at around 10:30 Monday morning when his 7-year-old son found the young girl hanging from a treadmill by its power cable.
UPDATE: Tyson's family just released this statement:
There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus. We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal.

Cops say boxing legend Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter is in critical condition right now at an Arizona hospital, after a freak accident involving a treadmill cord almost took her life.
Paramedics were called to Tyson's Phoenix home at around 10:30 this morning when his 7-year-old son found the young girl hanging from a treadmill by its power cable, according to MyFoxPhoenix. Tyson was not home at the time.
The girl's mother took her off the cable and immediately started CPR.
Paramedics eventually arrived and took the girl to St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, where cops say she remains on life support in "extremely critical condition." Tyson has since arrived to the hospital.
As of now, cops believe the incident was a "tragic accident."

It's a shock: it turns out Eminem and Mike Tyson are humanitarians, and not in the "we eat humans" kind of way.
The rapper and the former heavyweight champion of the world both appeared very normal on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night -- Kimmel even got Tyson to appear as a sane, non-violent citizen. Tyson claims that years of reflection have made him a changed person.
The world can only hope.

His handlers are hopeful they can explain to Mike what an inauguration is prior to the ceremony.

If Mike Tyson is coming to visit you for the holidays, make sure you leave the door unlocked.
The out-of-control boxer was waiting to enter a gated community in Las Vegas Thanksgiving morning when he became frustrated with how slow the gate was taking to open -- so, according to KTNV, he rammed his Black Escalade into the gate until it fell down. Tyson smash!
But Las Vegas Metro Police say the destruction was a total accident. They issued a sobriety test on the scene, which Tyson passed. After Tyson destroyed the structure, he was ticketed. Get this -- cops actually allowed him back inside the private community to finish his visit.

Is it just us or has Mike Tyson really let himself go? TMZ has snapped the ear-muncher for the last week around town and it appears as though he's moved up an entire weight class -- or two. He's been laying off the ears, but clearly not the sweets.

Robert De Niro was caught hugging overly heavyweight Mike Tyson last night. Is he crazy?!
Tyson was randomly at the opening of De Niro's restaurant Ago in Vegas, where he likely chewed on some delicious pastas and meats ... and we presume no human ears.
