Can You Morrissey the Resemblance?

Yesterday at the Santa Monica pier, "Slumdog Millionaire" director Danny Boyle (left) was told he looks a helluva lot like The Smiths frontman Morrissey (right) -- and you know what, it's a pretty spot on observation.

Morrissey's Got Beef with PETA

So you know PETA was pissed at TMZ for calling the organ-ization out after we ribbed an animal rights activist out for eating at a steakhouse. PETA felt it was just ducky for non-meat eaters to eat at meat eateries.

Turns out Morrissey -- who is a vegetarian -- wasn't actually at STK on Monday, but at the Belmont, the joint next door. Moz's rep tells TMZ that he not only didn't go to STK -- he would never go to a steakhouse! Meat IS murder. That kinda leaves PETA hangin'...

So how do ya like them meatballs, PETA?!

Long before there was even a glimmer of guyliner on Pete Wentz's flat-ironed banged face, Morrissey -- and his amazing band The Smiths -- were singing their tortured alternative/emo/indie music hearts out in the '80s. Guess what he looks like now!

The 48-year-old vegetarian resurfaced at STK -- a steakhouse! -- in L.A. on Monday, looking beefier. Meat is murder?!

Born Steven Patrick Morrissey, he is often referred to by fans as Moz or Mozzer.

Although the English singer had a successful solo career -- and continues to have a huge Latino fan base -- no '80s hipster soundtrack would be complete without the depressive anthems of The Smiths.
