There was a bikini war in Malibu this weekend between 45-year old Nicollette Sheridan (left) and 22-year-old Kristin Cavallari (right).
In this battle, there is no loser.

Desperate housewife or not, Nicollette Sheridan needs to do some research before she gets back on the horse.
We found out Sheridan's new beau, Steven Pate, was convicted of receiving four stolen horses from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Rodeo Arena back in 2000. The horses were ridden by students for rodeo competitions.
We're told a mare and three geldings were led out of their stable on September 27, 2000 and disappeared. When the reward swelled to $10,000, Steven Pate just happened to show up with all sorts of info. He was arrested and charged with 5 felonies, including Grand Theft Animal. 
Pate pled no contest to felony "receiving stolen property" and was sentenced to 6 days in county jail. When he completed all the terms of his probation, the conviction was bumped down to a misdemeanor.
A rep for Nicollette tells us Pate didn't know the horses were stolen when he received them, and that he was the one who brought the info to the attention of authorities.

Looks like Nicollette Sheridan is the latest to be sucked in by the mysteriously alluring gaze of David Spade -- a gaze that already has claimed Heather Locklear, at least one Playboy Playmate, and Nic's co-star, Teri Hatcher.
Spade & Sheridan were rumored to have hooked up at her birthday party back in November -- three months after she broke it off with former mullet master Michael Bolton. Last night, each dodged cameras after eating together at Koi.

Not everyone can fit into Chanel -- especially Nicollette Sheridan and Michelle Trachtenberg!
Last week, Chanel threw a big red carpet bash for the opening of its new Robertson Blvd. shop and invited the likes of Angie Harmon, Rachel Bilson, Sheridan and Trachtenberg -- but not Z-lister Phoebe Price! Afterwards, we're told several photo agencies were contacted by reps for the design house asking them to not posts pics of Nic and Mic at the event. Sources tell us they didn't feel the "Desperate Housewife" and "Gossip Girl" were high end enough for the label. Interesting, since they were arguably some of the more famous actresses at the event. Ever Carradine and Tracee Ellis Ross, anyone?!
We're told none of the agencies obliged the couture house's messed up request, but you can probably guess who these ladies won't be wearing to the Emmys.
TMZ contacted a rep for Chanel, but did not hear back.
You can't get much hotter than 44-year-old Nicollette Sheridan ... wearing a heavy winter coat on a freezing cold 80 degree L.A. spring day!
The cougarlicious "Desperate" actress eventually removed her furry covering and showed off more of her "Housewives" bod, as she was snapped going through security at LAX on Thursday.

Nicollette Sheridan had a group of school girls screaming ... but no, it wasn't because of her face!
TMZ was at Ago restaurant when a pack of pre-teens screamed bloody murder over the "Desperate Housewife" from their adjacent school, their howls carried a good block from their school to the West Hollywood eatery.
Come on, it's only Nicollette Sheridan. It's not like she had Michael Bolton with her!
