It was hardly a fair fight -- Shaq is 7'1", 325 lbs, Oscar De La Hoya is 5'10", 154lbs -- but the two strapped on the gloves and threw down in Vegas last night ... and the footage is AWESOME.
During the fight at the Planet Hollywood Hotel, the diminutive boxing champion is clearly holding his own against the behemoth of basketball -- even landing a few shots on the big man's grill.
As the for winner -- we're guessing we're gonna have to tune into that "Shaq Vs." show to find out.

Oscar De La Hoya's last contender, Manny Pacquiao, posed with a baby in L.A. yesterday after training for his Ricky Hatton fight next month.
This little girl has never been in safer hands.

Oscar De La Hoya hung up his boxing gloves after 16 years in the ring yesterday -- and when we asked him "Why?" at LAX, the answer was simple: "These old bones can't take it anymore!"
In a sport where most of its superstars blow their fortunes -- and are forced to fight when they clearly shouldn't -- it's good to see De La Hoya walking away with his money and a fully functioning brain.

Nothing says a woman of class like a sweaty vadge, whiskey and dope. Scandalous pictures must run in the family!
Oscar De La Hoya's niece Daisy -- who is currently a contestant on VH1's "Rock of Love," posed for this pic with her Britney partially showing and several lines of what looks like cocaine.
Daisy claims it's just flour. Oscar must be beaming with pride.

In the Dept. of Legal Showboating: The stripper suing boxing champ Oscar De La Hoya for $100 million showed up to court today to begin her case, and duly offered a full photo op in front of the courthouse.
But get this -- when it came time to start the actual proceedings, Milana Dravnel got a case of nerves and couldn't bring herself to walk into the courtroom. And Oscar didn't even show!

The stripper who claims she had a fling with Oscar de la Hoya -- and has the alleged stilettoed snaps to prove it -- is fighting to get the boxer into the legal ring, while Oscar tries to send the case to a secret arbitration.
Milana Dravnel has filed a memorandum, obtained by TMZ, trying to throw a haymaker at De La Hoya's recent request to get the case dismissed on grounds that she agreed to arbitrate her claims against the Big O. Milana, through her lawyer Salvatore Strazzulo, says that she never made any formal deal with Oscar to go to arbitration, much less any agreement to publicly disavow the photos.
Yeah, it sounds like a lot of legal shadowboxing to us too -- but the gist is, she wants a public trial to get the $100 million she's suing him for, and he wants the whole thing handled in secret.
Oscar's lawyer didn't immediately respond to a call for comment.

The stripper who first claimed she had racy snaps of sexy boxer Oscar De La Hoya wearing lingerie -- then quickly recanted on national TV -- threw a haymaker today at the Golden Boy, suing him for $100 million for smearing her rep.
