Talk about a morbid coincidence: 3 months before he was killed in an apparent murder-suicide, NFL QB Steve McNair filmed a suicide prevention PSA.
The spot hasn't aired -- and the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities says they won't be releasing it because it is now "not only inappropriate but doesn't serve the community."

Charles Barkley finished delivering a news conference from inside the Tent City Jail in Phoenix, AZ this afternoon, and his fellow inmates are already cheering for him like it's the "Shawshank Redemption."

Sitting next to Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the NBA Hall-of-Famer started with a typical PSA monologue, saying he made a mistake and had "learned not to drink and drive." Barkley reiterated that he is not a role model. Understatement of the year.
But the good stuff came after the newser, when inmate P519798 played politician -- shaking hands and even posing for pictures! All within the confines of jail. Oh, and apparently he's aware that TMZ broke the story of his DUI arrest.
If you're wondering what Sir Charles will do in his downtime over the next three days -- he's reading "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning Spanish." Ay Dios Mio!

The office of National Drug Control Policy has recently posted a dozen Public Service Announcements on YouTube. The government is hoping that kids will see them ... and just say no. Problem is -- no one's watching.
Never fear Uncle Sam, there is one video that is getting quite a buzz online. Specifically, Pee-Wee Herman (Paul Reubens) wants you to know that crack is wack. He shot the 30-second spot as part of a plea deal stemming from his infamous indecent exposure arrest in 1992.
The government's 12 new PSAs have garnered nearly 15,000 views total, while the Pee-Wee video, which is obviously not part of the new campaign, has almost 80,000. In the video Herman describes what crack actually is, and then warns that it "could kill you."
Seems to us that the NDCP should look into getting Paul Reubens to star in all of their new PSAs.

We've all heard the slogan 'Don't Mess With Texas,' but many probably have no idea that it began as part of an anti-litter campaign in 1986. To celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the now-popular state mantra, many Texan celebs have come out to support the cause in a new PSA. Southern beauties Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Owen Wilson, Lance Armstrong, and many others have joined together to issue a new call to action, 'Real Texans Don't Litter.'
"There aren't many things that are universally cool, and it's cool not to litter. I'd never do it," said Matthew McConaughey in an interview with the state's Department of Transportation (TxDOT). It's McConaughey's second PSA for the cause, and in a state where 55 percent of the population admit to littering (most under the age of 25), the TxDOT is hoping stars like him will have some sway.
The new campaign is set to launch Jan. 2 during the Cotton Bowl, but TMZ has your sneak peek of the star-studded ad.
