It only took 968 questionable criminal background checks -- but at least law enforcement officials in Massachusetts know Tom Brady is clean.
An internal investigation revealed that several Massachusetts officials have been snooping around in the personal files of several Boston area celebs -- including Brady, Matt Damon, James Taylor and Boston Celtic Paul Pierce, according to the Boston Globe.
Authorities are investigating to see who ran the searches and to find out if they were all warranted -- but 968 searches on a guy as flawless as Tom Brady seems a bit excessive to us...

We've obtained video of Paul Pierce being questioned by Las Vegas police after he was pulled over early this morning.
As we first reported, Paul was pulled over around 3 AM for an illegal lane change. After cops smelled booze coming from his car, they made Pierce take two field sobriety tests and a breathalyzer. Although Pierce registered on the breathalyzer, he did not blow above .08 -- the legal limit.
The fuzz let Pierce go without giving him a citation. He left his car and took a cab home.

Paul Pierce of Boston Celtic fame was pulled over for erratic driving at around 3:30 this morning in Vegas, and apparently cops suspected he was driving wasted.
Law enforcement sources tell us Pierce was stopped in front of the Tropicana Hotel and Casino and given not one but two field sobriety tests, plus a breathalyzer for good measure. He passed all three!
Now here's the interesting part. After cops let him go, Paul left his car at the valet and took a cab home. He was not cited or charged.
So three DUI tests, not cited for erratic driving, decides to take a cab and leave his car.....what's up with all that?

NBA champ Paul Pierce aka lucky bastard -- got a four hour Swedish massage in his cabana at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas this weekend.
The baller tipped his two hot masseuses $500 each. What a happy ending.

Boston Celtics stars Sam Cassell and Paul Pierce reaped the benefits of their NBA title this weekend, partying it up at Rehab at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Amazingly enough, the sight of Sam I Am didn't drive away the chicks.

Mother's Day was Sunday, so what better way for LeBron James to follow it up then scream "Sit your ass down!" to his mama last night on national television.
After a Celtic player fouled King James into the courtside seats where his mother was sitting, Mama James got a little hot. Good thing her little boy was there to keep her in check.
BTW, Lebron's team won.

Lesson of the day, courtesy of Verne Troyer -- respect my name!
TMZ spotted the pint-sized star of "Austin Powers" outside Crustacean last night, where very large Celtics player Paul Pierce had the nerve to call Troyer "Mini-Me." Big mistake!
Verne had to cut the 6' 6" Paul down to size, calling him out on his faux-pas, saying, "I could have come up and just said 'Hey, you play for the Celtics, what up?' No, your name is Paul, my name is Verne ... Next time, now you know."
Troyer then gave Pierce a low-five and was on his way.
