Rich Cronin of LFO bailed on a headlining gig this weekend claiming he was sick -- but it may be a load of crap!
We're told Cronin threw a fit after we reported how much scratch he was making for the show -- and that may be why he canceled. An official statement from Cronin -- who's a cancer survivor -- claims "Rich's health issues prevent him from being able to participate ... there is no situation which could be presented which would even remotely mitigate the physical risk posed by his participation."
But then we were told something completely different ...

The crappiest Idol performer since forever may think his fame is a lot bigger than his crazazy Mohawk.
After seeing our recent story, organizers of the Plymouth Rox Summer Fest are scrambling to contact Sanjaya to join their show. There's one problem. The obviously tone deaf organizers are having a hard time getting Sanjaya to return their calls! Divatude!
Sanjaya must be too busy washing those 15 minutes out of his hair.

Ever wonder what 98 Degrees Jeff Timmons and LFO's Rich Cronin do for money nowadays?
We're told Timmons and Cronin are headlining the Plymouth Rox Summer Fest in Mass. for the combined price tag of $8000 (plus travel) -- that's how much Sanjaya costs!
If that isn't enough, someone will have the opportunity to be serenaded by Jeff Timmons on stage -- if you win, just close your eyes and think it's Nick Lachey.
