Lane Garrison -- A Free Man

Lane GarrisonLane Garrison, who was serving prison time for a drunk driving crash that caused the death of 17-year-old Vahagn Setian, was released early this morning.

Garrison, who only served about half of his 40 month sentence for vehicular manslaughter, was granted early release because he had earned enough "good-behavior credits."

The former "Prison Break" star must now report to an in-patient rehab center.

Lane Garrison Settles with Crash Victims

Lane GarrisonLane Garrison has reached a financial settlement with the parents of the 17-year-old kid he killed in a drunken car crash back in 2006.

We've also learned the former "Prison Break" star has reached a financial settlement with one of the survivors of the crash, Michelle Ohana.

The exact amount that he paid both parties is confidential.

Garrison is still behind bars, serving out his 40 month sentence for vehicular manslaughter and two other alcohol related charges.

The parents of Vahagn Setian had filed a civil suit against the actor last year -- demanding payment for wrongful death and gross negligence.

Ohana, who was 15 at the time of the crash, was injured so badly, she spent the following 2 months in a wheelchair.

"Prison Break" Star Will Be Charged With Manslaughter

Lane GarrisonTMZ has learned that Lane Garrison will be charged today with vehicular manslaughter, a felony.

Garrison was at the wheel last December when he plowed into a tree in Beverly Hills. Vahagn Setian, a 17-year-old high school student who was a passenger in the car, was killed.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney will also charge Garrison with driving under the influence. He will also be charged with providing alcohol to a minor.

Garrison's lawyer, Harland Braun, tells TMZ his client has arranged with the D.A. to voluntarily surrender to the court at 1:30 PM. We're told the D.A. will ask for $200,000 bail.

We're told Garrison's blood-alcohol level was .20, more than twice the legal limit.

Significantly, the D.A. is not alleging Garrison acted with "gross negligence." That's important because the enhancement of gross negligence would increase the maximum prison time.

If convicted, Garrison faces a maximum of 6 years in prison.

A Man with Two Faces

graphic of a question mark Has Carrot Top had surgery? --Lou

Carrot TopCarrot Top, aka Scott Thompson, undoubtedly looks a bit different nowadays, as opposed to his earlier years. Sorry Lou, we can't give the yea or nay as to whether he actually went under the knife. One thing we can confirm is that he has undergone a complete physique change.

Click here to take a look at the once-scrawny-turned-ginormous orange-head (... and take a moment to compare that suspected face change, too).

"Prison Break" Star's Snobbiness Triggered Crash

"Prison Break" star Lane Garrison may have averted tragedy last week had he settled for a lesser vodka.

Garrison was behind the wheel last weekend when his Land Rover crashed into a tree in Beverly Hills, killing 17-year-old Vahagn Setian. As TMZ first reported, Garrison met Setian and two 15-year-old girls hours before the crash. The teens invited the actor to a party. People who attended the party tell TMZ they saw Garrison drink between four and seven shots of Grey Goose vodka in a short period of time.

Now other sources say seven was the unlucky number of shots. And we're told, Garrison was not drinking out of a shot glass -- the receptacle was much larger.

People who attended the party say Garrison finished off the Grey Goose and was offered Absolut vodka, but insisted on his drink of choice. The sources say Garrison was making a liquor run for more Grey Goose with Setian and the two girls when the accident occurred.

Garrison's high-powered celebrity defense lawyer Harland Braun tells TMZ his client was heading back to his apartment when the crash occurred. Garrison's blood was tested the night of the crash to determine his blood alcohol level. Results are pending.

What Garrison Did Before Fatal Crash

Lane GarrisonTMZ has learned that "Prison Break" star Lane Garrison has hired powerhouse defense attorney Harland Braun in connection with last Saturday's fatal car accident.

Lane was at the wheel in his Land Rover on Saturday night when it crossed a median in Beverly Hills and crashed into a tree. A 17-year-old boy sitting in the backseat was killed and two 15-year-olds were injured.

Braun tells TMZ that Garrison had never met the three teenagers before the night of the accident. Braun says Garrison was at a local supermarket earlier in the evening when the trio recognized him in the checkout line and asked him if he wanted to go to a party. Braun says Garrison went to the party and had one drink. Braun says Garrison also had one margarita at a Mexican restaurant that night, but that was the extent of his alcohol consumption. Braun tells TMZ that as Garrison was leaving the party to meet a woman at his apartment, the three teens asked to accompany him. According to sources, the boy was an only child and was extremely well liked by his peers.

Braun says Garrison has no recollection of the accident, which Braun says rendered him unconscious. In fact, Braun claims Garrison's first memory was waking up at the Century City Hospital emergency room with a taxi coupon on his lap that had been given to him by hospital staff so he could get home. Braun says he was not told by hospital personnel that someone had died. He learned of the death later from a friend, Braun says, and was "totally despondent."

Braun says a sample of Garrison's blood was taken at the hospital, but it could take several weeks before the results are in. Braun says he doubts Garrison was intoxicated, but also says, "Who knows if someone put something in his drink at the party."

Braun also says Garrison's Land Rover had been experiencing alignment issues as of late and had been pulling to one side, and added that the SUV had brake problems. Braun says he is forwarding repair receipts to the police.

According to Braun, "Nobody knows what happened, it's a mystery."

"Prison Break's" Underground Railroad?

graphic of a question markWhat's the deal with the website they keep mentioning on "Prison Break"?

Prison BreakMonique, everyone is going crazy over europeangoldfinch.net -- the website that is featured prominently on FOX's "Prison Break." According to some buzz around town, this web page is a way the characters on the show communicate with each other. Others think it's just a coincidence. We did some digging and found that the domain site was registered to FOX in July 2006, so it appears to us this was definitely planned. As of now the site doesn't allow for people to sign up to post comments on the message board -- something that suggests it exists wih the sole purpose of allowing fans to keep up on the latest happenings.

And for the latest happenings on a former "Prison Break" star, take a look at this website.

"Prison Break" and "Vanished": Week Three

It would be too easy to say that things are heating up on the FOX Monday night dramas "Prison Break" and "Vanished" -- but they are.

On last night's episode of "Prison Break," Sucre and C-Note tried to reconnect with loved ones (it's going to end badly), while Michael and Lincoln attempted to throw Malone off the trail (but may have picked up a new tail along the way).

Meanwhile on "Vanished," Senator Collins attempted to make a ransom drop in Atlanta with the FBI watching his back, while Peter Manning told his story to reporter Judy Nash.

First the "Break," Now the Escape

Prison BreakThe boys at Fox River Penitentiary are over the wall and on the run as season two of the hit FOX show "Prison Break" begins. Wentworth Miller sums it up this way: "As I like to say, the break is over but the escape is just beginning."

Cameras were on the set as Miller and co-star Amaury Nolasco filmed a scene where the pair had to jump onto a moving train. The pair, along with everyone on the set, is like family, Miller says. "We're lucky that we have a cast that is so humble," Miller said. "As soon as someone gets a big head ... we make sure to take them down a couple of pegs."

We found that out later firsthand when Nolasco had a bottle of water poured over his head during an interview by co-star Peter Stormare.

Season two of "Prison Break" kicks off Monday at 8PM ET/PT.
